I can't believe someone who went to JAC while I wa an officer hasn't seen this...I have failed :-P
Forgive me, sensei, I am a horrible pupil...

^_^

Well, I DID rent disc 1 from TR while I was still in Champaign, and if I still lived there, odds are I'd've seen it all by now. But, as of currently, Esca's on the list. I'm slowly working on some smaller series at the moment, plus a few movies (HURRY UP APRIL 15TH!!).
YOUR INSOLENCE IS UNFORGIVEABLE :smack:

I understand. Rentertainment was a GREAT place for the local anime fans. Too bad there's no place like that where I live now. I have had to buy some things on the faith of just a few fansubs :gasp: Funny antecdote, I bought Now and Then, Here and There based purely on my friend's reviews and Fluxy's Endure video. I still haven't watch it :(...it just sits there :(.

Work through a FEW things? I got some 20 odd shows that I just have to watch (or so I'm told). Then again, the "newest" thing I've seen is Initial D and that was a year ago. Haven't seen X TV, Angelic Layer, Noir, Rah Xephon, Wolf's Rain, GITS, GTO, Gundam Seed, Jubei-Chan, FLCL (ducks), Ayashi no Ceres, Inu Yasha (ducks again) and some other things that I am forgetting.

Funny that I was an officer of JAC and haven't really watched a lot of anime since...maybe three years ago. It's interesting the inverse relationship between being an officer and time to watch anime. Don't worry...I'll watch 'em all one day....

April 15th? Miyzaki stuff I take it?

Yep. Spirited Away will be en route to my hot little hands.

Rurouni Kenshin
Two my three favorite shows. Watch only selected Kenshin though. Follow the Manga.
Chaos Angel wrote: Gundam Wing

Gundam: 8th MS Team
I like Wing, but it takes awhile to get into it (like any Gundam show). Also very politcally driven. If you're not into that..don't bothter. 08th I enjoyed quite a bit as well. These two are a lot better than most Gundam shows I have seen (cough 080 War in the pocket cough).

Child's Toy
Both shown at JAC. Both wonderful...well Kare Kano up to Episode..18 or whatever. The last arc was meh, but then again it didn't conclude and the manga was stil going on.

Child's Toy is well...I'd say a tamer Excel Saga, but it did come out first.

I hear the incoming flames, but I say don't bother with it.

Let me summarize the show for you in less than 500 words and in peudo code (b/c I feel like it...did I mention I'm an engineer?):

Function FushigiYuugiEpisode:
int n = 0;
if (n <= 20) then
Tamahome says Miaka;
Miaka says Tamahome;
n++;
else
Miaka does something stupid;
Miaka never grows and continue to do things that hurt her friends;
Romance that is hardly believable between people you don't care about;
end Episode
(Repeat 52 times)

Again, I hear the flames coming since just about EVERYBODY loves this show. I will however admit that I am in the minority of about...3 people, so "the people have spoken" or some junk. Honestly though, I can see why people like the show, it's just that it's hard to like a show when you don't like the two main characters (who we're supposed to sympathize with) and don't feel all sappy about their romance. The biggest thing for me was how immature and hurtful Miaka was to her own friends. I won't go into details since that'll turn into a GIANT discussion with well...me against everyone. Suffice to say (to somewhat save myself), it's not WRONG to like the show. I just prefer not to.

Haha...I found this a humorous addition.

I certainly hope some of these you have seen (since they could either be buy or see right?).

I chuckle to myself. hohoho... :lol:

People have differrent tastes, and as a result like and dislike different things. To those of you who seem to take offense to those who dislike anime titles that you love I ask this: why should you care?

They gave the show a shot, watched it, and didn't like it. At least they were willing to give it a go. The only time you should be a bit concerned is when someone refuses to try out an anime simply because somebody told them not to.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Fushigi Yugi made the list because I'm currently reading the manga, and I love it to death. I did see an ep last Tuesday on the International channel, dubbed, though. I couldn't help but miss the softer art style of the manga...

Honestly gonna have to disagree on this one, I thought 0080 was perhaps the best of the Gundam OVAs (that's just me though.)

Also stating for the record, while Wing isn't all that bad a show, there's definitely better Gundam series out there (GX and Zeta, for example, both surpass it quite easily.)

As for Evangelion (since everyone seems to be tossing their $0.02 in on it)
Honestly, kind of split. While I liked the anime, I still didn't feel it was as great as everyone praised it to be (again, this is only my personal opinion.)

Bad anime...hmmm...
Crap! I can't think of any that I'd call worst...
Closest I can come is some irritance towards Record Of Lodoss War: Chronicles Of The Heroic Knight.
While I realize it's apparently closer to the original books (so I've heard anyways), it still didn't feel right (plus, the fact they just wrote Woodchuck out bugged the Hell out of me)...and the chibis...dear God, the chibis...

Well you're definitely free to feel that way. I could see why people liked 080 since it is more dramatic and whatnot. I just found it boring.

As for the other Gundam shows, I hate to say it, but I haven't seen 'em...hence no opinion. I do want to see 083 Stardust Memories though.
