Somewhat, but I don't think there's any excuse for misappropriating the language like that. ‘t’s not like it’s an obscure thing that it’s called “English.” Stereotypical American hubris irritates me.

But because I'm wishy-washy, I'll say I'm a little sorry.

Giving rightful concession to topic, I'll say that if Starfire is not forever simply a source of alien-out-water/nice-nice-pink-hearts-and-flowers-sunshine-smile jokes, and actually acclimates to her new home, it'll be good, interesting writing.

I'd also like it if member(s) of the Justice League had a humorous cameo.

Hey, it’s King Pie! Bler!

It actually doesn't matter to me unless they portray anime as something bad but they are not so I think that it is pretty much ok for them to copy it.
American Anime has been around for a while. This is just the most obvious example.
Batman Beyond has been called American Anime
And America created anime first. The first Disney cartoons are what inspired the first anime artists to make anime. So if anything, the Japanese copied us and we are finally taking back what's ours. Further more, Japanese SUCK at making story lines. 90% of animes I have seen have had very cliche story lines and plot developements. At leats we Americans try and be original (compare Mangas and American Comics. Our comis, by plot, generally rip them apart).
Ok, the bit about anime I'll mildly agree with. What the Japanese DID with animation, though, was take technique and style to heights that America is still trying to catch up to.

But the comic argument? Are you reading the same stuff I am? American comics are FAR more clichéd than manga. At least manga has a wide variety of storylines. American comics consist mostly of superhero(ine)s, and those stories are cloned from each other almost as bad as American soap operas. We don't try to be original at all. We stick with the same crap we've been doing for the last 80 years because we know it'll keep selling.
I agree with BishounenStalker because even professional American Cartoonists say that they do not do a wide variety of comics! I have not ever seen an American comic that is not such a cliche with all it's hero saving the day thing. That is all there is, there really isn't anything else. Manga ranges from romance to heros to angst to comedy to drama much, much more. Manga has much more of a complex storyline. I don't know what mangas you have read but it is much better than American comics.

I didn't know that America was the source of anime and I am happy that they gave the idea to the Japanese so I have to thank Americans for it but I cannot say that their comics are better than manga.

Thanx the American people.

If I was being rude about it then I am sorry, anyways, so who is everyone's favorite Teen Titans character?

I dont really know what to say other than I agree about the Disney being first. The rest doesnt deserve a response

Yeah, I'll just lay off the whole comparing thing. I like anime but that doesn't mean that I don't like American cartoons. I watch more American cartoons than anime because that is pretty much the majority that is on TV. They are both great so I am not going to complain.

Back to Teen Titans. From the beginning you find elements that look to be stolen...er, um, borrowed from traditional anime. The theme song seems to be sung in English but with a heavy accent to it. Similar to when you hear a couple English lines in a Japanese theme song. (What accent are they singing with?)

Within the first five minutes you get a chibi scene with an argument between robin and cyborg. You have an oversized teardrop of exasperation somewhere in the episode and you get the forehead blister of frustration (is there a better name for that?).

Aside from the obvious visual effects, did any body see a part of the plot that could have been borrowed? I don't know.

If Starfire's attitude confused anyone, she seems to be playing a stereotypical exchange student/superhero, since she is from another world.

By the way, Starfire and Nightwing (adult Robin) do get married in the comics. I haven't read them in a couple of years, so I don't know the current status.

Like i said earlier OVERANILAIZING and COMPARING eveything takes the fun and enjoyment out of watching a good television show.
