Jack and the Bean Stalk. I have no idea what year I saw it first, I think it was like '81 or '82. The show really freaked me out, as I remember. Anyway it was the first animated film I watched where I was made aware that it was indeed from Japan. I'd been watching Kimba the White Lion and some silly show about a Princess who was on the run from plotters who wanted to assassinate her before she could claim the throne (I have no clue what the title of this show is or was though) on TV prior to this, but I didn't know realize their origins until the mid 80s.

Robot God-Damned Carnival, I loved that thing, I dont know why, I dont know what it was about it but hot shit that was good. But back to the topic of the thread, I guess theoretically Voltron was the first anime I ever saw, but a chance seeing of Akira is what really drew me in and it was all over from there.Maximo wrote:For me it all started with Satuday Anime on the scifi channel, even though they only ever seemed to Akira, Demon city i forget what the rest of the name is, and ROBOT CARNIVAL. i love robot carnival, im still looking for a copy. But what really started me was Ronin Warriors. It came on at like 5:30 or 6 in the morning, and if i missed it then i came on again at 9:30 on Star 64( that channel crashed and burned) but that is basicly what started me. 8)

My first anime were Voltron, and this other one that I can't remember the name of. It had these three guys who had these robot-suits. The suits turned into these transport things, and weapons, and all kinds of other cool stuff. It might have been American, but when I remember the animation, it looks japanese. Oh, and DBZ. That really got me into anime.
