I never liked where it was going in the FIRST episode. Too many guy allies and not enough girls.

Violinist of Hameln seems to be fairly unknown. But then, I also thought it wasn't particularly stellar--too depressing (sez the girl who reads Faulkner for fun), though there's a hilarious OAV. It's fairly well-done imho, if not happy.

Hmm lets see I cant reallly say that alot of the anime arent popular anime. It depends on who they are popular with. Shinesman for example to Otakus is somewhat of a joke so lots of people have seen it. If you mean anime that is not cartoon network popular here are some.

1.Figure 17-Hey its been liscenced but even then no one talks about it. If you want a heart warming and emotional little tear jerker this is it.

2.Tri xenon-- Best big robot show ever. From the same team that did slayers and lost universe. It just parodys so many anime conventions.

3.Legend of the Galactic heroes-Somebody liscence this now dammit!

4.Master of mosquiton-Great vampire comedy series.

5.Don't leave me alone daisy---This anime is great but I've met very few people that have actually heard of it.

6.Green Green -The latest in ecchi

Props to those who mention Witch Hunter Robin, Violinist of Hameln and Figure 17- all good shows.

I'd also like to add my traditional shameless plug for Narutaru (aka Shadow Star). I cannot emphasise how much you should watch this if you liked any of Eva, Lain or anything else depressing/thought-provoking. And don't let the intro sequence or first couple of episodes put you off- they're there to lull you into a false sense of security.

I don't find anyone talking about Irresponsible Captain Tylor around here. Great older show.

Just a few titles I notice don't come up a lot would include

Phantom Quest Corp.
Whispers of the Heart
Pom Poko
Cyber City Oedo
Metal Fighter Miku
Dagger of Kamui
Venus Wars
Windaria
Ruin Explorers
Crusher Joe
Gatchaman
Lensman
Iczer One

My views on these are varried... some I kind of like, and some are in my top 10... however... I do like all these titles.

Well... I've seen Vampire Princess Miyu...
I've heard of Girl from Phantasia
The other two I don't know.
