You mean... I'm not alone? *wipes away tears of joy from eyes*Arigatomyna wrote:No, there are at least 5 of us. I'm another (also a major fan of Vegeta and Trunks, so I'm sure you'll love the end of the Android saga), and 3 of my close real-life friends adore the anime and get a kick out of the cute/funny scenes mixed in with the drama and action. I know a lot more over the internet, also female, also big fans. They just don't hang out here that often. ^_~Trident wrote:*shrug* But yeah, it takes a certain type of person to like DBZ. Take me, for example. I think I'm probably one of the only females on the planet who thinks the show is "cute."
But yeah... I think that another problem with getting attached to the characters is that, if you, like me, just jumped into DBZ without watching plain ol' Dragon Ball first, then yeah, it takes a while to get to know the characters. Most of these people already had connections which I could only guess at. I had to force myself to watch through the death of Raditz right at the beginning--after he died, I started to understand the characters a bit more. It's a show that you have to watch for a long time, I think--you have to see the new connections develop. Actually, I think it was the Gohan/Piccolo connection and the Goku/King Kai thing that really got me addicted...
Plus, the transformation of Vegeta from bad guy to good rocks. There's a ton of character development--it's generally just subtle.
If possible, watch it subbed. Gohan actually sounds like a cute little kid that way.....Propyro wrote:But i do remember the terrible voice actors ...
