trigun or bebop

the two animes are abt two different things tho. trigun is abt life and its value, and cowboy bebop is abt knowing whats reality and when things are a dream...

by plot its hard to compare. however, music and universe is cowboy bebop hands down. by guns and their powers, thats trigun hands down.

it all depends on what you want to see really...

i have to say i love Cowboy Bebop. though Trigun could of been better if it went by the manga. Vash can really be a pansy at times when Spike doesnt give a damn about any thing. i mean look at the way he rescued Faye in eps 5. i think ive seen Cowboy Bebop at least 20 times by now and Trigun only 10 times.

don't get into one of these discussions ... Spike is human, sure he;s a high end human, but he's still. Vash is not human, his abilities go above and beyond what is capable of any human.

If they were to get into a fight i'm sorry to say, but spike would get his ass kicked. Spike is a cooler character then vash, but he's not a better gunman ... god what a childish argument.

I liked cowboy bebop more than trigun. especially the ending.

I really didn't like the ending to trigun. the entire series is about a gunman with a strict sense of morals - placing his pacifist principles over money, power, and vengeance. And how does it end? a straight-out gunfight. It's as if the anime is telling us that we should just take the easy way out by resorting to violence.

Cowboy bebop on the other hand, has an intriguing love-trust-betrayal story between Spike, Julia, and Vicious. The ending is tragic yet conclusive, and it makes you think a bit about the story.

I thought both series had good music and setting, and i thought cowboy bebop had slightly better good guys, but trigun had slightly better bad guys. i liked legato more than vicious.

Vash could Angel Arm his way out of the cell. he did it to july, so he can do it there, wreck a prison and kill no one. besides, who said that an AMV is canon and real? someone could make a vid abt vash kicking spike's ass. its a matter of interpretation...

Umm, no, he'd probably end up killing a lot of people ... the first time that happened to him he destroyed the town of July(?), and accidentaly killed a lot of people ... i think.

But in reality, if you were to put them together and make them fight, vash would win because of his biological superiority, he's faster and more percise then spike could ever be for the simple reason that he is only human.

Hhowever the only way that spike could possibly win is if he stabs vash in the back becasue of his whole pacifist stance. But all that set aside ... i don't think that spike and vash would have any good reason to fight unless they were forced to.

I don't know aobut you guys but i think becasue of spikes philosophy he'd be liable to just turn his back and let vash go his own way. Sure he'd try and go after him for the bounty, but i have a feeling spike would relize what vash is about ... or myabe i'm just a dreamer ...

I think you're missing the point of the show a little bit, at least from my prespective. The theme from my POV, is that the past is the past, and while it may catch up to you at times, you cannot let it consume you. When Spike went to the Red Dragon headquarters, he wasn't going there to die, he was going there to free himself from the self-imposed shackles of his past, one way or another. This theme is played out with the other characters as well, with Jet dealing with Rad and his old girlfriend who's name escapes me, and Faye coping with her lost past. That's why "Blue" was playing at the end. Freedom is key.

Okay, thanks for your time, and to keep kind of on topic, the two shows are wholly different, and cannot really be compared in any way. Only similarities they really have are dark pasts and the fact that they play next to each other on Adult Swim.
