Take Guyver for example: an anime with a lot of potential but only had 12 eps. Whats even worse is that Manga had to get a hold of it and did the worst dubbing ever!!! Thankfully they released it in the UK with a fixed dub and kept the original american voice actors aswell. They also ruined that series with a live-action film starring Mark Hammil (no offence to any star wars fans).

Well, I have never seen anyone complain about an anime being short, except for those which feel unfinished like someone else mentioned. On the contrary, it sometimes happens the other way around. The biggest example is DragonBall Z.
A lot of people, and I mean a lot, including me, wanted the anime to end in the Frieza's saga, it was a very satisfying ending. But Akira Toriyama listened to what the fans wanted and he went and stretched the series until it broke, and the proof is DragonBall GT.
So I say short animes are really not a problem and must be nothing to complain about, unless there is a worthy sequel that will even take the anime into higher levels. That's when a sequel must be produced and created.

I like short series, less money to throw at overpriced DVDs.
Really though, I think a lot of people do love the short serieses (especailly Furi Kuri) but there will always be some people that kick and scream for more if something is under so many episodes. That's just the way some people are, and it doesn't help that most american shows last for 50 seasons and only end when it's cancelled, forget about fullfilling the plot of the story, since it's only plot was that it was a thing that was happening and continiued to happen for 50 seasons.

Alright as for short animes theres nothing wrong with them at all. The reason people dont like them is because they just cant accept the fact that a story with potential was short lived and they want more. As for some that I think are too short........None, Zero, Nothing. If the creator intended it to go on it would have if not too bad, its over.
By the way if they add on to Hellsing were gonna have problems because that series is to good to ruin with some crummy sequel.

The size limit of sigs is 4 lines of text, and mine was WAY bigger than that.

Okay, add "People putting death threats at the end of their posts just to be jack asses" to my list of most annoying things you might find on messege boards. (Also included on that list is people who make pathetic incoherent hit posts out of spite when they've been shown to have been wrong, and also one other thing, I forget what it was though)-Gaara- wrote:So die.MAS PRODUCTIONS wrote: Your avatar is too big. I've noticed that despite the fact that not too many people enjoy them, most new animes are rather short...compared to older, ridiculously long ones like DBZ and maybe Kenshin, which I heard is like 60 episodes. I don't mind short series, as long as the story feels complete. I really hate it when they cut a series off and leave questions unanswered, like Hellsing. ::growls:: I want more Hellsing, dammit!
Believe it or not, I think I'm the one anime fan who hasn't seel FLCL...even one of my non-anime fan friends saw an episode of it, but she said it seriously freaked her out and she would never watch it again. Her little brother (and I mean, 10-11 years old) loved it though - but then again, he has a tendency to watch movies and TV shows he couldn't even begin to comprehend.

It's 95, and I think someone I knew claimed to know of a 96th. Or maybe it was 94 and they claimed a 95th.ryuu_hime13 wrote:I've noticed that despite the fact that not too many people enjoy them, most new animes are rather short...compared to older, ridiculously long ones like DBZ and maybe Kenshin, which I heard is like 60 episodes.
