Ah yes 80's anime.
Who can forget the glory of Robotech, Guyver and G-force.
Fist of the North star rules in a 'that sucks so bed it's fun to watch' sort of way.
MD Geist... I still hate that peice of offal. Even after so many years the scars on my soul make me want to do a 'fight club' and demagnetize all the existing copies. Hell, venus wars was better than that, and that was about futuristic losers doing battle in motorcycles that looked like Mr Garrisons "it" from south park.

a.k.a. G-Force/Battle Of The Planets/Eagle Riders
originally aired back in the early 70's. I think it showed up in the late 70's as Battle Of The Planets (I watched it when I was young), then it came back again as G-Force (Ted Turner?) and more recently showed up as Eagle Riders for a short run. The '94 OVA is pretty cool which is a remake of 3 episodes into a mini-series.

Speed racer is from the 60s and the remake is from the late 90s. Goofy character designs but if you get past that you can see the high quality of the animation which just rapes the hanna barbara crap people were watching then. I would say my favorite old anime is Star Blazers Battle of the planets has just not aged well at all.
