DBZ, duh! Eva will be meh. I bought director's cut Evangelion 24-26 and they had a TON of stuff on the live action eva movie. I was like, meh. But DBZ- let's have that diesel guy play tien. They're both gay, right?

Actually, I believe that Fox did a Live action DBZ movie, it was called... ummm... secret of the dragon? the magic within? something like that. it was done in '83, long before most of you were born.

no, actually, that '83 movie is the same one that LittleKefalos is talking about, Dragonball: Let The Magic BeginNestorath69 wrote:Actually, I believe that Fox did a Live action DBZ movie, it was called... ummm... secret of the dragon? the magic within? something like that. it was done in '83, long before most of you were born.
YES it's crappy, YES it's old, NO it's not americn and has no basis on how good/bad this movie will be IF made
are you just openly racist or just like to speak the first things to come out of your mindExcalibur00 wrote:and how crappy is this verison? I can assume really terrible because asian films are never as good as western ones/
Something being Asian or American has no merit as to whether it will be "good", the only way that american films are always better than asian films would be if good=american, so unless that's ur view, than NO asian films are NOT inherently inferior to american ones, they're just of a different background and are influenced in different ways
hell, look at Brotherhood of the Wolf and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, both are great films and both are NOT american. Where as the american film Killer Clowns from Mars is not on the same level as the 2 other movies i mentioned, also There are always different genres of movie and films, so you could also say that currently, American Martial Arts movies are not as good as Asian Martial Arts movies, but with research, THAT could change, so making any kind of statement like that is just stupid no matter what side your argueing
hopefully you will never make another statement liket that again

I know Daio Kaji wasn't talking about me when he said it, but just to make sure... I wasn't suggesting this crappy version had any basis on how good the new movie would be.
Not to put words in anyone's mouth, but I don't think Excalibur00 was talking about all Asian films are worse than western films, I think he was talking about the B-nature of many Kung-Fu and Horror Asian flicks that make it over here (it's a style--maybe more of genre which you may or may not appreciate). Americans make cheesy horror flicks and cheesy B movies too, but they're marketed differently than cheesy Asian flicks which may explain the discrepency.
In my opinion foreign films are often better, because only the best foreign films (or at least decent in some way) are translated into English and distributed here... we get the best anime and most of the crappy anime is left in Japan unless of course the market begins to get flooded--hopefully it this won't happen because the burst may screw things over (we can hope).
Obviously directors like Kurosawa and Ozu (can't think of any contemporary names off the top of my head, but that film Eels was pretty good although I really didn't like Suicide Club) are not only great Japanese directors but great world directors... Kurosawa influenced Spielberg, Lucas, and Copola (is that how you spell it?) among others.

Still doesn't change the fact that it was made before most of you were born...
