You know what's kind of scary. The fact that the English version of the script is quite a bit better than the japanese version (at least that's what I observed while watching the first dvd). The English lines are a bit more amusing.

Saiyuki is my latest obsession...very cool...and it's not just a shojo thing, since I showed it to Wolfwood (also known as Anime Sensei II...one of the guys who introduced me to anime) and he loved it. I gotta get volume 3 as soon as possible!!!!

I also have volume 1 of the manga, the only one released so far. It's good. Follows the anime pretty closely, but it's a little more graphic.

Saiyuki = highly recommend!!!
