I've never liked Digimon. I always thought it was Pokemon but worse. I hate how they have to evolve EVERY TIME THEY FIGHT! And also it gets annoying hearing the theme song several times in the same episode. "Such and such digievolve!" "Digimon, digital monsters, OMG this song is annoying!" "Oh no he lost, such and such digievolve!" *Repeat*

Just a small example of what happened, when I happened to have it on the other day while I was using my computer.

Even though I myself am not gay and have no intention to be, I've always thought that using the term to describe something as bad/stupid etc as very offensive. In general I find gay people are amongst the funnest people you can hang out with.

Let's not do it in the future, children.

I know a 20-something year old digimon fan, he's quite the sight.
Screechy voice, 300 pounds, ALWAYS WEARS THE SAME FUCKING SHIRT...
Once he sat down to have lunch with me and he spent the whole 45 minutes talking about some online RPG, painstakingly detailing the character classes, their strengths and weaknesses, AND at which levels they learned which powers.

What a freaking überdork.

Well, Digimon has never really phased me, I've only seen most the series because my younger brother watches it, he likes that kind of thing still... the only big problem I had with it was THEY CANCELLED SONIC FOR IT

I don't find I really like it anyway, although seem to find myself with a few posters and trading cards that I seem to have acquired through people of this series

(I dont think there are many things I DON'T have the trading cards off at this rate...

The only season of digimon I liked was the one which focused on Tai, Matt, Mimi, Sora, etc. (Season 1??)

I strongly disliked all of the other seasons, probably because I got older and I started to like anime directed towards older audiences.

Y'know (and this purely for the sake of argument), the fact of the matter is that when used in such a connotation, the word gay refers purely to the "stupid/bad" meaning that has been assigned to it. If we wanted to get technical, gay means happy or whatnot. So the only way you could/might find such use of words offensive towards gay people would be if someone said that digimon was HOMOSEXUAL.
How many times have you called someone an asshole? In those cases, were you even remotely thinking of the poop tube? Perhaps the word should never have been used with such a connotation in the first place, but once the meaning is ingrained in the language, there's really no much use in complaining.
Hell, back in my hometown, the spanish word for "gay" means something along the lines of "chum." Whenever two buddies say hello, they go along the lines of "what's up, fag" or "how's it going, you son of a bitch". The meaning is lost, and with it any real intention of being offensive.
