... If I had to watch Live action sailor Moon, i'd probably do one of three things:
1. Gouge eyes out and gargle with broken glass and hot coals.
2. Make horrid, snide, mocking comments on the people that actually eke out a living in the field of Live action anime. (Excepting Battle Royale)
3. Start cracking jokes about Japanese schoolgirls, implied nudity, and the old beliefs about blonde hair and girls.
wait... I do that all ready. (excepting the eyes and gargling bit.)

I often laugh at anime, Nadesico had me falling out of my chair, lots of correlations to the old scifi TV shows. Dia Guard was great, best in the early episodes. FLCL rocks. Tokyo Godfathers has so much great humor. Those Who Hunt Elves, bad majic spells, a girl with a tank (posessed no less), Elf stripping, what more could you want. And the list goes on.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

I tend to laugh out loud at the more subtle variety of humor. The really in-your-face stuff, like Excel Saga for example, while funny, doesn't hit me as hard as something really unexpected in a not-so-comedy series. Little silly things in a drama or action series, like Pretear or Kare Kano.
Chobits really cracks me up too. So many dirty jokes in that one. Already been mentioned of course, but Azumanga Daioh tends to make me laugh out loud no matter how many times I watch it.
But as far as there being a certain point where I started to laugh at the jokes, I think I laughed more after I'd gotten to understand a bit of the Japanese being spoken. Cause while someone being called "idiot" or "stupid" is funny, someone being called "baka" is somehow funnier.

Laugh out loud???
So far, KareKano, FLCL, Azumanga Daioh and probably a few moments in several other series have made me laugh so hard that I (not exhaggarating) had to pause the anime and fall to the floor choking with laughter

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
