No offense, but you are starting to sound like one of the "Everything Japanese is better than anything American" fanboys, so I had to inject my thoughts. Firstly, most anime you will never see or have never seen. Simply put, the US licenses only the better shows, because that's good marketing. Living in the United States subjects you to all the American crap, as well as the American gold. Were you Japanese, you might think the way you do now about American TV, movies, etc. Secondly, in reference to the bolded part of the quote, there are quite a few anime that take that undertone. From the perverted jokes in DBZ and Trigun to the overtness of Green Green or Hanaukyo Maid Tai, there is sex in everything. The Japanese even go so far as to draw their porn, and sometimes do nasty or illegal things because they can, quite simply. All because it's animated. So, in all actuality, there is really no way to avoid it.blueshogun96 wrote:Maybe I take too many things personally. In short, alot of people don't deserve my respect, but they get it anyway because I'm much to nice to everyone. But being nice is a good thing.
Oh yeah, this is why I don't like american humor in the first place, (yeah, I know not all of it's like this, and I'm not saying it's only america either) but why do things that pertain to sex sound funny?! I think it's not a joke and nothing to be trifled with. Someone's sex life is none of our business period. If you like to talk dirty, then fine, just don't talk that way around me! Whatever happened to just good, clean humor like the three stooges? America in general is becoming a land without morals.

Don't think Japan is all that great. You've only seen the good things about Japan. The Japanese are known for having a superiority complex and can be arrogant bastards at times. A close friend of mine was serviced in Japan a while back. He was on a two week leave, so he decided to visit and cruise around Yokohama. He got into a car accident that was clearly the other guy's fault. He was going with the flow of traffic and the other guy ran a red and T-boned my friend. What happened? They put my friend in jail because he's not a citizen of the country. Nothing he could do about it, he can't contest it and the higher ups had to pull his ass out. They favor the citizens over the non-citizens. He also said the Japanese jails are bad too. When you're in jail in Japan, the people there treat you as if you really do deserve to be there.
Another fact to reinforce the superiority complex of the Japanese. In Japan, it is extremely hard to receive citizenship to the nation. Practically the only way you could be a citizen of Japan is if you're off 100% Japanese blood. Because of this, Japan's population is actually decreasing.
Japan might have a lot of cool stuff, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to live there. There's said to be a lot of stress there, and I believe it too. Japan has one of the highest suicide rating in the world. People jumping in front of running trains and shit.

Metal and the Middle Finger
Alright Blue
I agree Anime beats the hell out of sitcoms and reality tv. Jay Leno is cool though.
About sex and humor try Robin Williams Live On Broad Way. Its hilarious so what if its dirty at times.
Clean humor gets boring, The Three Stooges included. (Though there were actually five stooges.)
As for being disrespected that is why you have a middle finger. That and traffic.
Being nice can get you walked on. You have to learn to switch from nice guy to bad-ass and back.
If you can't switch back nobody will like you. I guess an example would be the episode of South Park with the home schooled kids.
As always I recommend to take a double helping of Metal...and watch Fight Club.

I think you're just an angst filled tweenager with some rather incomplete, half cocked ideas about life, pop culture, etc. *shrugs*blueshogun96 wrote:Once again, I've dissapeared for a month and came back out of no where, (and once again, no one really cares about me).
Do you feel that people, friends, and family disrespect you because you like amine? Me? My parents continuously... I think japan makes better tv shows in general. American has no good sense of humer too.
When you get older I think you'll find that although things can be easier/more convenient to understand when wedged into a stereotype, that it tends to make you look as unintelligent and unsophisticated as those you blindly criticize for making fun of anime. In all reality, you aren't much different from those people.
There are plenty of good American TV shows, granted things are a lil on the thin side right now, but it's never a complete void. Shows like Farscape, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, OZ, Law & Order, Sex And The City, the list goes on and on. I would imagine that you probably blindly criticize a lot of these shows just as your parents do with the anime series that you watch. Do you see my point? Stereotypes are bad, mmmkay?
I mean, there are some REALLY good anime series out there, but there are also a lot of REALLY bad anime series out there. If you ever took a trip to Japan and visited one of their high schools you would find out very quickly that many of them find most anime series to be rather "uncool", something that only Japanese nerds and little kids really like. Chances are they would make fun of you just as much as your parents do.

I know this is gonna sound strange in all (and if you haven't noticed I am strange!) but I hate being called a teenager. I don't consider myself part of that age group because I don't feel like one anymore and i never did. Like I said before, NO ONE can relate to me.Wheee_It's_Me! wrote:I think you're just an angst filled tweenager with some rather incomplete, half cocked ideas about life, pop culture, etc. *shrugs*blueshogun96 wrote:Once again, I've dissapeared for a month and came back out of no where, (and once again, no one really cares about me).

I really don't care who likes me anymore. it never took me long to think this at all. My high school years were the worst. Going through high school trying to be popular is a waste of four years (or five). Being alone is something I got used to fast. Sorry if I started a stupid thread as usual. Forum space, they make it, I waste itIf you can't switch back nobody will like you.

Well, I'm sure that's what you're hoping for anyway.blueshogun96 wrote: I know this is gonna sound strange in all

Uh huh.but I hate being called a teenager.
Yes, you're unique...just like everyone else. Tell me, did you even READ my last post to you or did you just skim through it in a daze of self rightous ignorance? And you're right, you're not what I would consider a teenager as far as intellectual acomplishment, no in your case I think tweenager would be a much better label.I don't consider myself part of that age group because I don't feel like one anymore and i never did. Like I said before, NO ONE can relate to me.

Re: Do you feel disrespected?
First of all, I thought tweenager was a typo. And second of all, I've never had an always on connection to the internet, so I'm so used to trying to have to hurry up and download the things I want, save the web pages I want before I'm kicked off. That way I can read the things on the web pages I saved. So I kinda.. read it fast.Wheee_It's_Me! wrote:Well, I'm sure that's what you're hoping for anyway.blueshogun96 wrote: I know this is gonna sound strange in all
