Kind of funny actually --> made friends with another fangirl at the beginning of my grade 12 year. We were having a similar conversation while walking to the bus stop. We didn't realize there was a guy with long blonde hair walking in front of us ^__^;;
A week later though, she asked him his name and they started going out -she hasn't spoken to me since.

Well, I love bishounen and I also prefer more feminine looking guys with long hair in real life - I always figured it's because I'm bi so a feminine guy is like the best of both worlds.
So if you like bishounen and you can't figure out why - maybe you're repressing something... j/k
Actually from the literary gender theory stuff I've read women tend to find feminine male characters psychologically useful as role models because actual female characters are often portrayed either as men idealize them or in old-fashioned stereotyped ways that make them useless to women trying to find rolemodels and build their personal mythology. So it can be freeing/empowering to identify with a more androgynous character.
Also, women who aren't confident about their own attractiveness and don't understand why real men aren't more interested in them can really identify with a gay character who expects to not be considered attractive by anyone he's interested in (because they're probably straight).

"Have come to the conclusion that fandom is not a hobby at all but rather a combination non-competitive sport/full-contact tea party. Only, like, the Mad Hatter's tea party, and the Dormouse is totally hitting on the March Hare." - Ins
