Otohiko...

In the past being a child meant innocence, purity and all things simple and good but times have changed.
With the world we live in today, little kids are exposed to worse things in real life.
Who cares if they see animated blood?
They're watching their parents kill each other, their older siblings doing drugs.

This seems like a pessimistic view but sadly this is only the truth in some cases.

The problems are the parents who don't set rules and don't explain things that should be since early age.

Anyone remember the Columbine incident? Yeah, let's all blame it on Marilyn Manson. WTH?!
Where were the parents? What were they doing? Did they care about their own offspring?

It's not like I'm planning of giving my children hentai but just talking goes a long way.
People would be surprised with the understanding kids respond to simple LOGIC.
You tell a kid not to do something and they will, explain why they shouldn't and they'll probably get it.

Yea, that's exactly what I'm getting at too, actually.

I guess it also has to do with my own experience. Taking the assumption I grew up alright, I'd think my parents had it right. I was never specifically shielded nor specifically exposed to this sort of stuff. But all was explained to me in proper terms & at the right times, so I knew how to deal with it. And although I played violent first-person shooters from about age 12, watched a lot of action movies and such, I'm still one of the least violent and vulgar people I know of thanks to proper parental guidance...

And that's why I think parents' groups have it wrong by trying to shift blame for problems away from themselves.

Erm, I think we're kinda digressing now
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Yes, same here. It's the parents job to do the right thing but most don't.

Shielding reality from kids is stupid:
What happens when they grow up?
They encounter a "foreign" world, are/feel misplaced and learn that they never really grew up.

Showing things to kids that aren't meant to is also idiotic:
No examples needed here.

Live and learn. Parents don't want to let their kids do that anymore.

Yes, we are.
Maybe.
But when the discussion is intelligent I think we're entitled to this.
And that's why I think parents' groups have it wrong by trying to shift blame for problems away from themselves.
Who wants to get blamed? Even alcoholics hide their "condition".

People are stupid, especially children.

Stab them.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.
