I said I was cool with the rest of the show and Spike dying is not necessarily something I would change. My problem was with the mechanics of the ending, it seemed too rushed. He left the Bebop rather suddenly, they don't say what happens to Faye or Jet, the fight scene with Vicious seemed anti-climactic. I don't know, I just felt that it lacked a little bit more explanation. I still will watch it again and again, but the ending just came to a screeching halt and I didn't like it at all.TheKorovaMilkbar wrote:Oh, and Merm, I'm just trying to understand. You're still fine with the fact that Spike would end up dying, right? Even if they made the series longer?
Was it that you thought they just didn't cover enough of his life, or that they left loose ends? If so, what loose ends can you think of?
Just questions of curiousity. Because I've never heard of anybody who didn't like the ending, so I would like to know what the series lacked that could have made it better, and could have wrapped it up, so to speak, in a way that would have been fulfilling, and possibly, make it one the best series for years to come.
Worst ending EVER! - super spoilers involved.

Chobits hands down!
And there isn't a straight guy out there that can seriously disagree with me.
If you are a guy never watch Chobits, it will try to lure you in a first a crap loud of fan service but dont let it fool chobits in a the biggest shinjo anime i have seen. The fan-service fads after the first few episodes and you will keep watching it becuase you think it might come back but it never does, then you get to the final episode and you think "Chi and Hideki have to hook up or something or atleast hint to it." But, you would be wrong, but by then its too late you cant stop watching it now you have to see have how it ends and then the spring it on you the worst fate that could ever be fall a man. God it cant even bring myself to say it. Its to late for me but for you men out head my warning never watch Chobits!

Dude, if you thought even for a moment or two about where her 'reset' button is then you'd have figured out that it wasn't going to happen. I'm sort of glad that it never did actually, given her childlike mentality it would have been just creepy.
But since we're on the subject: Hanaukyo Maids. Aargh. I kept checking to see if I had missed an episode or something. Unlike Berserk, which apparently ran out of money (a pretty valid reason for an F-ed up ending I guess, unless you follow the idea that a company aught to plan out the finances a bit better), H. Maids had a second run that did pretty much the same thing as the first... what's up with that?
Why have a series, even if it IS blatantly in place for fanservice and not plan out an ending?

How about this:Escaflowne the movie
That could be called: no more ideas lets finis it, The end.
Like watching a movie and then electricity went out.
Well i didn't expect that, the series is good it has a good ending but here, she just disappeared and he turns away.No emotions involved like after a casual sex.

I second that one! Not only did the ending suck, but the animators crapped out too! The series looked great visually until the end where all the details and whatnot went out the door. What the hell was with the bridge of the Macross flying off when the rest of it gets blown to pieces? And that god awful song she sings at the end....I've only watched the English dub so I don't know if the song is supposed to switch over to English half way through or what. Macross II is something you just hit the mute button and watch.Heero_Yuy84 wrote:Hmmm...I'm inclined to put my vote here on Macross II: Lovers Again...
The series was pretty good for the first 5 episodes...then this last one...what the Hell?
(Think the ending of Do You Remember Love? only without the high-quality dogfight, an 'eeeh' choice song and an added cop-out factor)
