We need to kick more asses in schools. There are too many kids going around naked. Girls who wear miniskirts should be forced to go naked. Boys who wear anything short and revealing should be shot. And no, that wasn't an anti-gay statement. If you thought it was, you're a prejudicial jerk who should be castrated for thinking all gay men are effeminate. We need to go back to the kicking people around for not covering up.

As for censorship, consor everything. There not worth looking at anyway.

Let's please not degrade this to a question of sexual orientation. It's a pretty plain question. I know if I saw a movie, and the lead actor's genitalia were cg'ed out, I'd be just as curious.

Damn pop ups screwed up my first sentence which was,It illegal to show the genital area without censorship in japan.But don't you find it strange when it seems there seems to be more open minded things about sex in Japan and yet it censored there and it isn't here.

I think it's funny that they can show the inside of a woman's body in hentai (watch La Blue Girl), but can't show hair (armpit, pubic, male chest hair, etc). The fact that they can't show male gentitalia is just another one of those weird quirks that makes anime so different.

And for the person who commented on US movies being the same...watch Color of the Night with Bruce Willis - it's rated R (the same as any violent horror movie), but you see the male body in full 'underwater' glory. Then again, that movie is more sex than story, so I'm amazed it slipped by with only an R rating. Just thought I'd mention it since it's an exception to the rule.

As for what kind of person would ask about anime quirks...maybe an anime fan? If you don't wonder about what you're watching, you may not be old enough (aka responsible enough) to watch it in the first place.

Oh yeh i know what your talking about in La Blue Girl which the episode that comes to mind is pretty strange.But i did forget to mention that,that not one charcater in anime has ever had pubic hair female or male no matter what the age.
