This is true, and besides, this topic is way too old.)v(ajin Koji wrote:What does it matter if Hollywood screws it up anyway. There'll still be the original.

If they haven't been able to hit George Lucas with that charge, I don't see you getting far with SquareEnixZaphod_Beeblebrox wrote:it should be, if not i may consider taking legal action for "shattered dreams and severe mind-fuckage" (re: the wait for the movie to come out)
(...then again, I personally think this whole thing is being set-up for some let-down potential anyways, so I'll just shut up again)

yeah but the things is: i don't care about star wars. Final Fantasy is actually a major part of my life, if the film aint good it'll severly fuck my mind and shatter my image of squarEnix as being a good, wholesome company.Heero_Yuy84 wrote:If they haven't been able to hit George Lucas with that charge, I don't see you getting far with SquareEnixZaphod_Beeblebrox wrote:it should be, if not i may consider taking legal action for "shattered dreams and severe mind-fuckage" (re: the wait for the movie to come out)

It's the same in principle though...people get into the franchise, the franchise makes a bad move, and suddenly they respond like they've just been forsaken by them...
Again, I'll say, given the build-up I wouldn't get your hopes too high on AC...let's face it...the bar's been raised pretty high for Square and, as such, the odds of them being able to match all the expectations are slim...
...but, we're kind of getting off topic here...so, in an attempt to bring this back to the main point:
There's prob. people who are thinking the same thing about live action EVA...

Re: THE DREADED LIVE ACTION ANIME ADAPTATIONS
That all depends and what you're deeming "original" and "unoriginal". Personally, I see original ideas all the time...I'm not sure what Hollywood you speak of. People just seem to call everything a ripoff just because theres some tiny shred of some similarity between 2 movies, shows, videogames, ect. Its getting rediculous, and quite frankly, I'm sick of it. People are just looking for something to deem a film "unoriginal" by now. Pretty soon a movie absolutely like no other will come out and people will say "omg its actors are human...HOW UNORIGINAL! HOLLYWOOD WHY ARE YOU RECYCLING IDEAS!?!?".reservoireddog wrote:Are there really no oringinal Ideas left in Hollywood?
Personally, I don't find anime to live action adaptions appealing in the least, but I've seen plenty of originality from Hollywood that never stops coming. If the last original thing you saw was in 1996, you obviously have been living under a rock, beneath a staircase, in an abandon house with no lighting in the middle of Stonewall, Oklahoma for the last 8 years.
Or your sadly unobservant.
