It depends entirely on what you're watching.

It works both ways, especially in anime. If I find something too ridiculous I don't watch it, it won't keep my attention.

I'm more concerned with the attitudes/social behaviour learned through watching excessive fanservice type programs, but then again, I just ignore most idiocy anyway

If the female creators would just catch up to the males, we'd have an even world of fanservice. Until then, I just figure there are a lot more male creators, and more male viewers, so there are a lot more naked/exaggerated female anime characters.

I can still find the occassional bishie, and once in a while you'll see some female-oriented fanservice outside hardcore anime. Someday we'll have fanservice mixed into normal anime the way the big-breasted girls are. They've already started with anime like Naruto (bishies ;p) so it's on its way. I can wait for it.

I'd be a hypocrite if I complained about the female-degredation, then turned around and wished for more hot bishies. The guys can have what they want, as long as we get some equal action.

Naruto is the perfect anime for anyone offended by mini-skirts (sailor moon). Kenshin is pretty good too.

I don't care about the unnatural way women are shown in most anime. It's a little funny, but mostly easily ignored.

As far as "girl-friendly", don't forget Princess Nine!

Also, X was created by women. Just because it isn't about cuddling, teddy bears and flowers, doesn't mean that it isn't for women.
Take Knight Hunters for example. It was described as "Charley's Angel's, except with men as the main characters", and it was said that the main draw is to female consumers because the men are so pretty.

It really bothers me. I mean, how they dress isn't exactly what you see in the real world. I have alot of guy friends, and for some reason, they don't really get why women in the real world don't dress like the women in anime. It makes me sick!

I hate the feeling that the only thing girls are good for is for a guys stupid, petty, sexual pleasures (this goes to every form), working around the house, giving birth to children, and so on. Um, news for you, I'm a person and should be treated like one. Not like a mere object .

And the girls in anime, their boobs (excuse me please) are ridiculously large and they look like soogy water balloons! They bounce and flop around--mine are probably just barely below average, and let me tell you, it hurts when I jump around too much. THERE ARE NERVES THERE YAH KNOW! Getting smacked there can be compared to the pain that a guy feels when he gets knocked in the groin.

Sorry to offend anyone, but: Girl friendly? Pphh.
The only anime that offended me AT ALL is Cool Devices. That's how hard it is to get me offended about gender stuff.
I feel confident enough in myself that it doesn't bother me to see girls portrayed the way they often are in anime and from my personal point of view, being bothered by it is silly.

Actually I think most guys know this, they just don’t care. I view that whole issue as a form of flattery, the female form is one of gods most worshiped figure. Men adore women to the point where they exaggerate particular points of interest. It happens. Cant say women don’t do that, got guys with 3 legs walking around, that’s just ridiculous.

Unfortunately one thing people have a hard time in understanding is moderation, Balance. now a days people think a female is hot if she is ultra thin or has massive boobs. Anime is by nature exaggerative, just about everything is blown out of proportion, if you didn’t see that coming you haven’t watched enough anime. And if said guys really expect to have you dress like that, they have watched too much.
