5 minutes can take up 7 episodes. i've tried about 3 different theories to explain it and none of them work.blaku92 wrote:Man, DBZ Rocks... well not the crappy episodes where they power-up for 5 episodes.
What are the anime essentials?

In my opinion it's (and many people has probably already said these)
Akira,
Ghost in the Shell, and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocense,
Evangelion,
and Voices of a Distant Star. Just watched it today and I really liked it.

Spirited Away.
It is a universal anime. You can't call it a "kids movie" and no matter how old you are you can appreciate it.
You can also tell people it beat Monsters Inc. for the best animated movie Oscar. I have converted a few people who used to think anime was basically animated porn or pokemon into enjoying Anime because of that movie.
It's not really one of my favorite anime's per-se. It is simply the one where I know the most people can enjoy it and see that Anime isn't simple disney fare. It shows them a level of depth that is prevalent in good anime and is missing in most other animated stuff.

since all the other series were tooken that i was gonna say i only have a good few.
The Transformers - there about the best A.I type giant robots and they have had some of the best toys when i was a kid.
G-Taste - this is about the lightest series iv'e seen.
Metropolis - this is one of best Manga inspired movies iv'e seen and would get the attention of the sci-fi fan.

And, to quote Beast Wars:
Rattrap (after uselessly firing on the Ark): "What is that thing made of?"
Optimus Primal: "It's Die-Cast Construction ... (turns to the audience) it's a lost art."
