No, I just find the show to be past the point of extreme retardation. It's sheer stupidity to the point of feeling my IQ drop when I watch it.

Not all american shows are trash, but a lot of them are, in my opinion. Spongebob hits points where it could quite possibly be called the stupidest show I've ever seen. Power Puff Girls is annoying, I can't stand the whole "happy little girl" thing, it bugs me to no end. Reminds me too much my little cousin.

However, looking at the other side of the argument, I do enjoy the old bugs bunny cartoons from time to time, and Tiny Toons can actually be kinda funny if you turn your brain off. Not to mention that Family Guy and Futurama are hilarious (I've been watching them since they were on Fox, long before Cartoon Network bought the rights to air them <.< ).

Well. we definetly have commone ground on Futurama and Family Guy, that's for sure.

For my argument, read OtakuMan22's post and then I would add that MoJo JoJo episodes are far more entertaing to watch then any episodes with the Student Council in Utena, the bad guy in Lain AND the NAru Narsegawa (pure evil right there) from Love Hina combined.

And to expound on the in-joke statment. The PPG evend did a "Rainy day" episode where they spent the entire show making fun of itself.

The show is self aware.

Self awareness > Pretnetious bullcrap (75% of anime)

Also bum, I am just now being converted to Bob. I still like the PPG more... he is getting funnier every time I see him.

When I first saw Powerpuff Girls, I thought it was a one-off - special ep of Dexter's Lab or something - because I honestly didn't see the joke working for longer than one episode. OK, maybe two. In any case, when I (in a couple of months) realized that it wasn't actually a one-off and was staying on TV, I switched channels with vengeance whenever it came on. It was kinda dumb as a one-off, but as a series I honestly found it mind-numbingly retarded.

Then again, who knows, it might have gotten better in the 3 years since I stopped watching TV
