You can beat a horse to death, then beat it some more and its body will keep moving, but it will still be dead.
We're just the flies and maggots that eat it now.

No, because I actually LIKE being able to understand what the characters are saying, instead of read those fucking subtitles.
DAMN STRAIGHT!
I hope for your sake you're serious.

This does get rather pointless since most anime is coming on dvd's with both subtitle and dub. We can all have what we want, isn't this a great time to live, technology never ceases to amaze me.

That said, I prefer dubs, even if they aren't the best quality, because I am not a fast reader and miss much of the animation trying to keep up with the dialouge. It would be great to know Japanese and listen to it in the origional language but that won't happen with me. I am happy with what I have.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Subs rule.
Dubs suck
Watch it raw...
and shut up!

(I loved this cheer at Ohayocon when they turned the dubbed anime room over to the subbers over protest.)

x2

Personally, I get more of the context based on tonal frequencies...dubs usually lose this in an effort to 'ham it up' or make some 30 year old voice actress sound like a teenage girl. (Not that this dosen't happen in Japan either.) My daughter loves when I buy DVDs of our favorite shows because she can't read fansubs fast enough either. (I do have when fansub groubs put long-winded explination on cultural references on the screen in the middle of the show...another pain in the tukus to edit around when making an AMV. :)

I'm a big fan of the subs... with subs you get to hear the original voice-acting, the way it was intended to be, which sometimes is a good thing, like with 'One Piece' (its horrendous how they've butchered the show with the US dubbed version)... I have no problem with dubs (except with 'One Piece')... they're alright, and every once in a while I find a dub that I like better than when its subbed, like 'Fruits Basket'...

I'd prefer to stick with one or the other though for a particular show. If I've seen a few episodes of a show subbed, I wouldn't want to see it (ah, hear it) dubbed. Most times it doesn't seem to go over well with me.

Another reason why dubs are better all the way.

Hmm...depends on how much they actual cut! I mean, a dub like....hmm.....Fullmetal Alechmist (i believe it was dubbed) was ok because they took out minor parts. But in dubs like Mew Mew Power (grrrrrr) they changed every little thing that seemed wrong. So it pretty much depends how much its dubbed. (but seriously, i hate Mew Mew Power cause of the dub)
