What's your reason? [for watching anime]

i watch it because of the drama, u cant find that in real life

My son got me started when he was in college. We watched Ninja Scroll, this was not kids stuff. We later watched Evangelion, the story had me hooked.
I have enjoyed animated work as long as I can remember. I also have been a scifi fan for years, and the good old comic books of my youth. The fact that anime so often has very good scifi storylines has kept me coming back.
Another reason, life sucks. I didn't know this when I was back in my school days, even after college you feel you have this great wide world ahead of you for the taking. After many years you look back and say "if only I had done that", and you realize that many things have passed you by. Anime is a way to live in a different, more interesting and fun world, if only in your imagination. I would love to drive a mecha, travel in space, save some cute anime chick, have all the girls in love with me - like Captain Tyler or Kintaro Oe.

Oh ya, anime girls are so dang cute.

Hmmm...I would probably say (sadly) Pokemon...but I was much younger then...I SWEAR!

Then the next thing was Shaman King ,Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, & Trigun. After those I worked my way up to downloading animes of the internet & started reading & watching animes off the internet...
I am about to finish Ranma 1/2 & then move on to Love Hina (finally....)

Ai Yori Aoshi was my real reason. I was slightly interested after watching DBZ "what I now hate", but once I borrowed Ai Yori Aoshi from a friend, I had to get more, and more, and more, until I started my own collection. One thing came to another and I started creating AMV's.

At first I didn't know what anime was and I didn't even heard of anime. My fist anime that I ever watched was Salor Moon and Thunder Cats( I think it is if I'm wrong sorry). Then I watched YYH and Rurouni Kenshin. That was when I started to get interested into anime.

Well I don't know really i was just at my house drawing cartoons cuz thats all i could draw.....
When my friend came over and he bought me a anime drawing book so i started learning it cuz i had nothin better to do so then i just started well get hooked on it! LOL

Honestly, I'm addicted to Japanese Cartoons, not at all. But if you're wondering how I got interested in Watching Anime before I got old enough to comprehend the difference between it and US cartoons . . . Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Voltron, G-Force (Gatchaman), Speed Racer, and Samurai Pizza Cats (considered Anime, it is>?). I knew none of them were from Japan, I didn't care, a cartoon is a cartoon to me. I love it either way. It today still remains irrelivant to me where it came from. So long as its good, I won't complain.
