Well, I ended up watching Spring and Chaos and the first few episodes of Wolf's Rain (didn't like it much).
Madbunny - no I didn't like Twin Spica's art style, I liked it's characters and story.
Anyway I'm continuing to search for something new to watch, so if anyone's got any more recommendations I'd be happy to hear them.

Most recent anime of choice for me:
Bakuretsu Tenshi or Burst Angel (in English).
Very science-fiction-y, macaroni western, mecha, a group of female mercenaries, the main character, Jo, is the one in my avatar. Her past is a secret that not even she knows. She fits the stereotype of all of my favorite anime characters: emotionless and kicks major ass. You know the type. Shoots without looking and keeps a complete straight face.
Note: I am not into mecha anime (and I don't know if I'd call this one a mecha anime, but most people who op'd my Bakuten video called it such), but this one really speaks to me, as the mecha is not a HUGE part of the storyline.

Isn't this a bit of a necropost?sunandshadow wrote:Well, I ended up watching Spring and Chaos and the first few episodes of Wolf's Rain (didn't like it much).

But then again I've seen threads resurrected from two years ago.

It's a bit of a necropost, but since I'm essentially asking the same question and the list of animes I've watched is the same except for a few additions, it seemed silly to make a new thread about it.
(And as an aside, I discovered 2 animes missing from wy watched list: Vampire Hunter D and Sheep's Song.)

Hmm, Gungrave looks dark but maybe profound enough to be worth watching. Is it anything like Samurai Champloo?

Nope! Gungrave takes place in the present. It's about the mafia. Two best friends who joined the mafia, made it to the top, and later had a falling out. One killed the other. The one that was killed was brought back to life through the evils of science, and he's out to end his ex-best friend and the organization. There's more to the story.sunandshadow wrote:Hmm, Gungrave looks dark but maybe profound enough to be worth watching. Is it anything like Samurai Champloo?
Watch a few Gungrave AMVs for more.
