I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here (OMG WTF 1 DAY AFTER NERCROPOSTER!!!111one), but I felt the need to say something.
This year at Otakon was my first crossplay. I went from short brown hair to purple hair and boobs, and believe me, there's a lot inbetween that you don't want to even think about. Whether you like it or not, you have to respect him. It takes a lot of pride (and a lot of courage) to even try that. I don't know if I'd necessarily go that far to be a woman (those short pants are killing even *me*, plus the body hair, which I made sure to get rid of), but it's a fun gesture, and he makes a good point about women and scandalous clothing. It'll be interesting to see if this happens again next year.

While I respect and admire him, its not >that< big a deal.
I've spent many a con in various dresses, (Including a re-enactment of the infamous '3 seashells' incident at Marcon...3 seashells were the entire costume...use your imagination as to placement. ) a long weekend at a renfaire as a >pregnant< peasant. and over a two-year run in a local theater's Rocky Horror live cast, played EVERY single character.
(And for those who haven't seen me, I physically resemble Man-Faye quite a bit except for the facial hair...6'1", 220lbs, and hairy! We're talking bigfoot hairy. And no, I don't shave anything for a costume.)

He has had to suffer quite a bit for his cause though.kitsunebeolnet wrote:Fungie½ wrote:Whether you like it or not, you have to respect him. Right. You and the other 100 guys who were convinced I was a woman and thus felt the need to grind all over me and then question their manhood when they realized I was a guy. Now the article was interesting, though the pics disgusted me. I now have new respect for Sailor Bubba as well...
But I'll continue sticking to oogling hot girls [real women, hopefully] wearing Seung Mina and Ivy Valentine costumes over any crossplayers...
Still, my preference I know isn't the law [though I admit, it'd be nice if I ruled the world lol].
My salute to you wannabe women!!! [just uh... stay out of my camera k? ]
Being banned for that I will admit is quite shitty...
