I know it's already been said twice, but I also recommend Le Portrait de Petite Cossette, because it is way too good to pass up.

I also recommend Wolf's Rain because I think it is similar to X in a lot of ways.

I would recommend Angel Sanctuary, but most of it is not available in the U.S. and I don't know if this creates a problem for you or not. It seems like there was something else I wanted to recommend as well, but I can't remember what it was...
