How about Shinji in End of Evangelion? Nothing says manly like man-goo!Bardiel13 wrote:Almost every scene in Evangelion with Shinji in it. You know I'm right!

I think looking for a non-manly scene is more of a reasonable request.Driftpeasant wrote:Got a specific scene in mind?Harlock7876 wrote:Captain Harlock!
Harlock's freaking manly, but I need a good example of it.
How about My Youth In Arcadia at the end when he gets a "coolness factor" shot of him behind the wheel on the exterior of the Arcadia? Or maybe when he gives the salute at the beginning of the finale battle with the enemy main ship?

DriftPeasant???? *wonders if someone is encroaching on her nick*
Anyways...
I suggest Martian Successor Nadesico for some really, really funny scenes of, well, men being men and women being disgusted with them. What am I talking about? That silly parody of a mecha show the guys love to watch. Further, since the audience will be sitting around watching men watching other men being manly, any guy in the crowd who understands the irony of the situation should be vastly amused.
On this note, may I suggest someone with a camcorder panning the audience and showing this onscreen realtime during fanservice sequences?

You've got my vote. His dual-personality way of doing things is as manly as it gets...oldwrench wrote:I'll put in for Ryo Seaba, from "City Hunter", an all round troubleshooter and ladies man. Any guy who would shoot through his own hand in order to slow the bullet so it won't go through his intended target and injure the innocent bystanders behind him is one manly guy.

Elfen Lied - First or second episode. Bandou is in that training sim and he starts going buckwild and shooting everyone. And then some Nameless Cute Anime Secretary comes up to him with a clipboard and he bitchslaps her across the room. Later in the series he beats up Lucy and Mayu as well. Now that's a manly man.
Cowboy Bebop - Spike having his drink ruined in that bar and beating up the gang that was causing a ruckus.
End of Evangelion - I would argue Shinji choking Asuka is manly.
Full Metal Panic - Sagara Sousuke. No matter how incompetent he may be, always saves the girl and blows up part of the school. Truly there is no man manlier.
Samurai Champloo - First episode when Mugen starts breaking the fingers of the blonde guy. Manly to the extreme. It also takes a real man to wear earrings, as Mugen does.
