How many people who hate DBZ have actually seen it uncut?

If you're going to shrink DBZ down to that level, it's only fair to do the same to other well-loved (by myself and others) shows.

Oh no, it's one of Shishio's bad guys! Kenshin! Fight for peace!

Oh no, it's Dilandau! Van, Allen! Fight for peace!

Oh no, it's some evil rebellious renegade forces with giant mecha suits they can climb into to pilot with lots of guns! Colony citizens! Fight for peace!

... Yeah. DBZ sucks.

VegettoEX is right, I mean aside from DBZ being drawn out, other animes often do the same thing (read my other posts for some of my examples).

Just to make it clear, I am not defending DBZ videos (which are extremely repetitive except for the few best ones).

Furthermore, the cut parts are often the comedic and the violent parts which take away from the emotional roller coaster effect that DBZ is, those two to three minutes mean a lot.

Yes and how could one not think that the puppy getting shot wasn't sad, among other things I was personally deeply saddened by this moment and to some extent I teared up (yeah go ahead and laugh), of course DBZ is not as emotional as some other animes, but it doesn't have to be, that's not what it is most of the time.

Finally, it's OK if you don't like DBZ I'm not trying to convert anyone it's OK to not like it (it's a matter of personal taste). I just feel that someone needed to defend DBZ against the mindless attacks on DBZ by some people who I'm sure haven't seen the show in all its glory, that's all. And especially all the criticisms leveled at DBZ fans.

Nowadays DBZ is bringing in a lot of kids that might become more varied anime fans, and this in my mind is certainly a good thing.

The plot is too repeative... I watched it on Cartoon Network until the end of the Frezia seires and stopped... that's as far as it should've gone... no more... but it did. That's why i don't like it. So even the uncut version couldn't saved it from my liking.

The problem is not only with the anime but with quite a few of the fans who have only seen the cut version and thinking it was the best ever. I don't think I've seen DragonBall uncut, or really a whole lot of Dragonball period.

I watched about half of the first episode of the original and it was so retarded I just, yeck. It was the dubbed version yeck. Just looking at pictures on the internet, I get filled with rage at how stupid and pointless the character designs and plots are. Then the fact that there are thousands out there who think this is top notch shit. It's like the people who think Bush is doing a good job as a president.

It blows, it's horrible horrible anime. I'd rather watch low budget hentai then that crap. Atleast there's something semi-worthwhile(tits) in hentai(titties ;p).

Yeah and I've probably blown my whole creditability by mentioning tits. So what ^_^

Let me explain a bit more in detail:

I never like the show from the moment I layed eyes on one of the characters, it looked stupid just from the art work. He's(he being any male character in the show) suppose to look cool, but it looks just, stupid. The clothing they wear seems like it came from some 80's thrift shop. It makes starwars wardrobes look GOOD.

The re-used plot. How many times can you power up in a anime? This was not a ballzy move it was a "how can we recycle as many cels & scripts over and over again since this is such a cut rate anime".

Over active melodrama generator. A daytime soap opera contains about 200 times less melodrama then any episode of dragon ball. Atleast on a soap they don't spend all their time doing cheap ass pans of the characters about to fight each other to see who the lamest is.

DBZ fan websites suck ass, DBZ fans are rabid and are usually close minded to the actual world of anime. They are unwilling to accept that their anime is considered AND IS a utter piece of shit that was recycled for 500+ eps of pure shit on shit :O

There is wayy to much documented proof that DB just plain sucks :\ It just does damnit ^_^.

For a actual anime, DBZ has the worst animation, the worst plots, the worst character designs & yes even the worst AMVs. Sad but true :\

The problem with the Eva part is they are not fighting for peace they are fighting for their own selfish reasons, and there are always conditions behind them . . . . skips ahead to EoE . . . .and everyone dies except Asuka and shinji. and your right DBZ does suck, but it does pass time after college.

You've missed the complete point of my post :D

You've just "defended" EVA by further explaining something that could otherwise be shrunken down to a retarded level of understanding. This is to be expected. However, it would seem the instant someone does such with DBZ, their words are immediately disregarded simply because it's DBZ.

I could say that every episode, Shinji, Rei, and Asuka have to fight Angels to save the world. I wouldn't be wrong.

You could say that every episode, Gokuu has to power-up and beat some villain to save the world. You wouldn't be wrong.

If you try to confine ANY series to its main, run-of-the-mill plot, of COURSE it's going to sound stupid and repetetive.

I'm a junior in college. I've been a massive fan of "DragonBall" for seven years now, and I don't see that love dying anytime soon : ). If you don't like the show, that's fine, but it's disrespectful and asinine to toss aside a show and proclaim its inferiority simply because YOU (being a general "you," applying to anyone ^^) don't care for it.

I hate Yu-Gi-Oh, but I'm sure there are some genuine fans out there, and they're MORE than entitled to their liking of the show : )

But if you took fighting out of DBZ what would you have, the occasional dry laugh that is about Mr Satan getting thrown into a wall. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about animes, I mean personally I dont care if you like DBZ but when noobs start screaming over how DBZ is the best anime they have ever seen, thousands of times, it does get pretty annoying you've got to admit that. Im really tired of this debate, from now on Im not going to click on anything DB related ever again, its a waste of time to argue over such a dull anime.
