when did u first watch anime?

Hmm well I watched Star blazers in 79 of course I didn't know it was anime. As a matter of fact I watched a couple animes before I turned into a freak! I know I saw tank police and Akira and I just considered them really terribly drawn cartoons. Hehe Then in 99 I saw Slayers the movie and that is when something clicked the true meaning of anime.

Starblazers was my first anime too! (Though I didn't know it at the time.) I watched Battle for the Planets (G-force in some places), Voltron, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Transformers, and the like without knowing they were anime. I didn't find out it was japanese in orgin until I found a rack of tapes labled "Japanimation" at my local comic store. I asked the guy behind the counter about it and got a lecture about how the proper name was "anime" (he was a real prick about it too) but I left with a Dirty Pair tape in my stack of stuff. I've been hooked ever since.

Hmmm, the first anime I'd ever watched I believe, was Demon City in the sci fi channel which I really liked. Then I saw Princess Mononoke which I loved but it wasn't until I saw Serial Experiments Lain that I really got interested in anime.

Merrow---I watched Battle of the planets too! But unfornuatly I brought the tape recently and it was nowhere near as good a job as Star blazers. But what did I know then I was 4 and 5 when those shows were on. I used to hang out in one of my freinds basements and some of the kids would bring over animes to watch. But they didn't interest me until one time I was stuck there and this guy put in Slayers the movie and I loved it and then he said there was a bunch more tapes of it at suncoast. It was like crack!!

Back when I was either 8 or 9 my cousin, who was about 17 at the time, brought over a copy of Akira. After I say that movie I was pretty much hooked.
About a year later I got completely infatuated with Robotech.

In the 70's, I watched Speed Racer...but back then I didn't understand the idea of "Japanese Animation" back then. Animation was Animation.

Later in the 70's I saw Battle of the Planets and even joined the Battle of the Planets fan club... learned about "Japanese Animation" then.

IN the early 80's I was hooked on Star Blazers and officially considered myself an anime fan.

For me, the first anime I ever watched of "Mysterious Cities of Gold" and I was 3 years old.

My first time watching anime was when I was in like 3-4th grades. It was on the Scifi channel on saturday. The anime was 8 man after. But I think I saw dragonball Z in 2nd grade on the WB on early EARLY morning Saturday. I'm not sure.

When I was in the 7th grade I think I was 12 and it was Akira.

The year was 1998 The grade was 6th The show was Dragonball z.
I rember seeing it on WB before i got cable and then i would watch it on Telemundo or what the white people call "the spanish channel". Then i saw it on Cartoon Network.
