In a word, "Escape."

Now, watching anime on live TV, that's different.

But to watch a good uncut movie, or three, four, or maybe a dozen episodes of good anime in one sitting, that's pure escape. Anime, when taken this way, is almost like a drug...

Let me see...simply...I grew up with it and it so much a part of my life that it seems real to me. I start thinking, hey, maybe there might be a world out there that we don't know of that could be like the anime. My first were Sailormoon and DBZ. And, I love the graphics, the storyline and soundtrack of anime...it just seem to be more realistic and it's something that I can relate to. :D

o.O WTF? XD XD

Hm...it's a good question though...I dunno why really. I mean, no one in my close, remote, or even people who don't know me family likes it, and only a very tiny portion of friends have 'interest' in it, so it wasn't the environment....

To tell you the truth, I can't tell you how or when it started, but I'm hella glad it did. XD

Well my first anime was pokemon or dbz on cartoon network and alot like crackthesky i wasn't really into it. i think the anime that got me interested was probably inuyasha or trigun on late night toonami. Then (again alot like crackthesky) i was over at a friends house when another friend comes over with 1/100 of his insame omg anime collection i notice a box that catches my eye i ask him about it and he's like oh you wouldn't like that its too complicated. so i'm super curious now and i ask if i can borrow it. and he says sure w/e so i take it home and watch the first couple of episodes and i am scraight hooked on it. I even skip school the next day to finsish the series and movies. and from then on i have had an insane desire to see everything that slightly resembles evangelion.

I used to watch Robotech and Voltron as a kid but I didn't even know what anime was when I watched those. I would list Transformers but the original show was american made, it was made by the same people as GI Joe. The first anime I watched that I knew was an anime was Ronin Warriors. Soon after that they started having anime movies on Sci Fi channel and I got introduced to Project A-Ko, Dominion, Record of Lodoss War, and Vampire Hunter D through that.

I used to be one of those people that praised the greatness of anime and treated american cartoons as kiddy crap but nowadays I like just about all animation unless it really is crap... like Sponge Bob.

It's just that other non-IRL thing that is fun besides movies and music.

I'd watch anime when I was little with that piece of crap Pokemon, but anime didn't REALLY hook me until I woke up one night and watched one of my favorite animes, FLCL. From there I've been obsessed with anime and have now seen over 150 series/movies/OVA/whatever in completion.

the first time i saw anime i was in 5th grade. a friend invited me to his house and we watched Dragon Ball Z. it was the epasode whare Goku launches the spirit bomb at Frieza. after that i stoped for about 2 years. than my parents got devorced and i moved out of state with my mother. while we were jumping from hotel to hotel i saw DBZ on toonami. after a while other anime's started poping into the picture as well. rurouni kinshen, yu-yu-hakusho, witch hunter robin.
when i was a sophmore in high school i meet someone who liked anime just as much as i did. he turned me on to some of the lesser known anime like steal angel karumi and sprite. he also turned me on to this websight.
at first i just downloaded amv's but after my comp crashed with around 200 or more amv's i decided to check out this part of the sight to. ive only posted like 6 times. but from here i expect things to get strange, unusual, intresting, and most of all, fun.
