Air Tv, Bleach and One Piece:
Reasons: I loved the story line of each of those anime and can't decide which of those I like the most thats why I chose all of them as my favorite anime^^ What I like about Bleach is the great fantasy story with the fantastic fighting scenes. Air Tv has by far the best characters in an anime and One Piece is sooo funny^^

Yu Yu Hakusho without question.
Superb cast, great action, great characterzation, each saga leads into the next one so it doesn't feel like it's pulling a DBZ to keep going. My favorite animes are ones where a great group of chacters get into a fun adventure where you care about what happens to them and they bicker a lot with each other. I can't think of a better anime to do that than YYH. And I mean the sub...not the dub.

I totally agree with you manOtohiko wrote:Anime : Monster
Reason(s) : Very mature, genuinely deep and often as creepy as it is inspiring; offers little in the way of action, humor, fanservice, or bright flashy art - and everything in terms of plot, athmosphere and character. Although it does center around some pretty contrived conspiracies, there is nothing supernatural involved and everything ultimately comes down to human nature - and this show does raise some extremely poignant (and more or less unanswerable) ethical questions.
Also, it's set in 1990s Europe and revels in very accurate athmosphere - visually and otherwise (it's surprisingly well-aware of social issues in post-communist Europe, for example). The art, while not flashy as I said before, soaks in beautiful European cities and landscapes, and the characters designs - many of which border on ugly - are realistic and unglorified. Also, in a break from the usual teen domination of everything, the protagonist is in his late 30s - ironically that's a median age for the cast, who with a few exceptions are all adults.
All in all, a breath of fresh air who want a bit less flash and a bit more substance in their anime.
The thing that is interesting in this anime is that the main villain isn't represented in the same way as in other animes. In many other animes villains are represented
as some strong and tuff guys who are using force to achieve their goals. In monster villain is represented as someone who doesn't look evil at all, in fact others think of him as a good and honorable person.
He doesn't use force. He enters mind of other people and learns how to manipulate them, or he awakes their deepest fears and destroys their will to live so many of his victims commit suicide.
So if you want to know how is an individual capable of transforming into monster, watch this masterpiece!

Great, fellow monster fan
It should also be noted that unlike what some people may assume, 'entering people's minds' doesn't involve anything any secret techniques or superpowers. That's why it's so genuinely creepy.
And for those who haven't, it's worth mentioning that 20th Century Boys, his next manga, could possibly top Monster in complexity and character development. Some people seem to resent the idea of animating it for some reason, but I personally hope that maybe one day it'll be turned into anime like Monster was.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Yes Monster is the most realistic anime I have ever seen...my friend once said that she doesn't want to be a doctor anymore because of one part of first episode...when that women started to panic and yell at Tenma because she blamed him for the death of her husband...and to me that realistic feeling is the main thing that makes this anime so special.Otohiko wrote:Great, fellow monster fan

But I also think that this anime is very misjudged...I'm 17 and all of my friends who started to watch this anime because of my recommendation think that this anime is boring and they stop after watching 6-7 episodes (but one of them thinks that this anime is great though )
That's because they are probably fantasy freaks and that is the main thing that you won't find in this anime...one of them even thinks that is anime is bullshit and that the main reason is crappy animation...well you won't find another anime that has so human like and realistic characters!!! ...why can't they see the geniality of this serie?
This anime has a very complex story so you must be very concentrated when watching this...I am still wondering about few things even after watching the whole serie
This manga is my fav. mangaOtohiko wrote:And for those who haven't, it's worth mentioning that 20th Century Boys, his next manga, could possibly top Monster in complexity and character development. It would be great if they animated this manga but i heard that they are planing to turn it into live action movie...Monster as well...take a look at this -> http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/1673/20thcbmovqz0.jpg lol
Do you maybe know what is happening in the continuation
of this manga named 21st Cenutry Boys...there aren't many infos about this one...
What do you think about Pluto...Urasawa Naoki mix Osamu Tezuka...have you read this manga? I think that this is another masterpiece
