exactly yu yu hakusho is my favorite( despite my name lol) but arggh hiei and kurama are not GAY! GOD! lol i hated the toonami dub but really liked the adult swim one.

First, I base the "fanbase" off fanfiction and amvs. I don't like most anime forums, so I never listen to the people just...chat about their favorite anime. The only time I'm subject to the cutsey "he's so hawt~!" fangirls is when they post in their journals here. So this is just about the girls (and some guys) who take their favorite anime and make stuff with it.

Gundam Wing fans. This didn't used to be true. When it first came out on CN everyone knew for a fact that Heero was a cold emotionally stagnant bastard who could kick anyone's ass without even trying. Then two years ago it flipflopped. Everywhere I look it's "Oh, Heero's so sweet and innocent, look at the poor little softy." And I'm like...did they even watch the anime?

Japanese Naruto fangirls. I'm talking the ones who make doujinshi. Yeah. Those ones. I admit that Naruto has his cute moments - when he cries over Haku he looks like an innocent five year old. But that's one scene in a very long series where he's a boy. Honestly, he's a teenage boy. An obnoxious loud annoying boy. I've yet to find a single Japanese dj or fansite that got him right. They make him even more girly than Hinata. And all I can wonder is...who likes that stuff? I'd never have watched Naruto (or read the manga) if the main character had been a girly crying shy little six year old. >.<

Inuyasha fans. The ones who think Kagome is the perfect female character. I've seen it with fanfiction, amvs, fanart, you name it. I don't think there's a male anime character out there who hasn't been paired up with Kagome at one point in time. She's the Mary Sue of the anime world. And the fics (and amvs) are always the same. Kagome appears. Every male anime character in the new series falls head over heels for her. I admit that sometimes it's funny. There was a IY/YYH video where Kurama and Hiei were fighting to see who Kagome loved more, and Hiei ended up getting stuck with Sango instead. Funny. But still, what's with the fangirls writing/editing this stuff? Kagome is plain, boring, and typical. You might as well wave a big "self-insertion" sign around when you use her.

DragonBall-Z & GT (don't mind the original or it's fanbase), Pokemon, Yu-Gi OH!.... Most of the fanbase is under 12...urgggh.

Bleach--loved the manga, the anime came out and so did the "It's SOOOOOOO coool, ya gotta watch it!" Blurgh.

Naruto -- Besides the fact that the main character dub voice makes it sound like Naruto is in the middle of spastic diarrhea, the people who follow it to the point that they want to Genins, Sennins, drennins or drackeys (Ok, I made up the last 2) make me want to drive reeeeaaal close and Smack Them upside the head while passing them on their "Naruto-Cycles".

Which is why I prefer the not-quite-as-saintly Kikyo. At least you can't see her doing a Laura Ingalls in the field of flowers.

Yes! Heh. I did a huge rant once on why Kikyo was the better female lead in that series, all about how she came first, the only reason Inuyasha even paid attention to Kagome was the shared soul/scent, how Kikyo set up all the ground work prepping the stupid hanyou and then Kagome just comes in and it's instant flowers and lover's spats. Just a cheap modern replacement with no redeeming qualities of her own. All her good points are due to the fact that she was Kikyo last time around. Yeah.

Unfortunately Kikyo's dead two minutes into the series. And you know the fangirls relate better to the modern schoolgirl replacement. Miaka from Fushigi Yuugi? Yeah. It's all about the plain schoolgirls with the pure hearts. Blegh.

Which anime has the elitist fanbase you hate the most?

I'd pick Eva, just because those fanboys have scared me with their philosophical discussions to the point where I don't even want to watch the anime. Or maybe DBZ - where you actually get stalked and harrassed by a fleet of elitist fans if you post the wrong opinion in an open anime forum. Yeah, definitely dbz fans. I have a video hosted on a few really big dbz sites - everything's fine and dandy with that until one of them contacts me and finds out I intended it to be a yaoi video. They didn't even notice but the second they find out they're forming a petition to get the video removed from the archive. Bah. Fanboys.

There's a reason this is the only forum where I'll post my opinion regarding general anime - we're allowed to have opinions here. If someone doesn't like mine, that's fine because chances are I don't like theirs either.

Sorry Yaoi fans, but Gravitation. I watched it and still don't see why it is so great. If Shuichi was a girl the fan base of the show would decline. I thought it's story was pretty poor.

MIne would be DBZ. When Zoids got removed from the air half way thorugh Fuzors I was pissed because there was an awesome episode on the Gojulas Giga (Rampage of the Reckless god of Destruction #22) which i thank my friend for letting me see that and the rest of the episodes i missed. ^_^ Anyway people assumed when DBZ was over that Zoids would come back. NOPE!!! now they (CN) shoved MAR and Prince of Tennis (bleh animes). And i was also ticked because DBZ was WAY more violent than Zoids. But yea i pretty much hate Cartoon Network and whomever owns Zoids for taking it of the air in the US. >=(
