The nice thing about being old (36) and having no kids is that I don't give a flying rat's ass what anybody thinks about what I choose to like and spend my time on.

Today in my lab at Uni. "Hey thats a nice Nagisa mousepad you have there, where'd you get it?" "Singapore "Awesome". I've seen people watch anime on their laptop in the middle of nowhere on campus by themselves.CodeChrono wrote: It's generall not in the best interests of me as a college student to have tohru honda on my desktop, holding a cat and a rat on display in the library.
We had an anime club, but it got disbanded over the summer session. Apparently they had like 10 members, but 6 of them graduated, and none of the other four wanted to run the club. I was thouroughly irritated.OropherZero wrote: Also I'm a bit surprised about your statement. Do you not have an anime club at your college? I was thinking it was pretty standard in the world :/ In my city 3/5 of the universities have anime clubs. Heck I'm going to go see Sword of the Stranger in a lecture theatre tomorrow :/

You obviously think there's something wrong with anime, otherwise you'd treat it as nothing worth even acknowledging.
Anime, it's just a hobby. Thinking otherwise, means the only one with a hangup, is YOU.

Did you not stop to think that maybe they don't enjoy having people stir shit up about them due to their hobby? Just because they choose to not blatantly flaunt their hobby does not mean that they question it's integrity.
Some interests are just not widely acknowledged in the eyes of the general public, and for those who maintain those interests, the choice is theirs if they want to hide it or not. This does not in turn imply that the person with said interests thinks that there's something wrong with their hobby, but rather that they have acknowledged that other people might not feel the same way towards it as they do.
