When I watched Rahxephon along time ago...
I didn't cry, but I felt an immense sadness inside of me.

Re: Anime that makes you cry
I've cried over a lot of series but the one I remember the most...the first time crying over a series actually, was Digimon season 1... The end where they all had to say goodbye and Mimi avoided Palmon because she didn't want to leave her for good...
Seriously, to this day that will make me cry like a little girl.

Re: Anime that makes you cry
Too many to list...recently: Kannon (Lots of tears..) , Tsubasa, Ghost Hunt, Air & Air tv (gut wrenching...) Witchblade, Rocket Girls, Chrono Crusade, Eureka Seven (Again lots of tears...) . That's it for this last year. Higurashi never makes me cry it just hurts my brain container. 5 Centimeters Per Second didn't make me cry but I felt like hell for about a week.
The one legged space chicken is after me again.

Re: Anime that makes you cry
Crying is a form of weeping for me. It is just that, an emotion that is spawned from the mind. Along with other emotions, crying is still natural. It doesn't take something specific to make someone cry, it just depends on the person and how something caught their attention. There are infinately dozens of things in this world that can make someone cry. The same things that make me cry could easily make someone else angry. Animation is a form of art. The main purpose of art is that the author, director, painter, animator, and whatever else, is to show to someone else a form of it and hopefully get a reaction from them. The idea is to touch the audience in some way, and the easiest way to explain it are through emotions. There are several different animations that come to mind, but that's because they've already been said.
Personally, I've cried through a lot of different Animes. It's just how someone interprets what they see from the creator's eyes.
