I think Evangelion is one of the better animes that has ever been made. It is a complicated and brave story filled with complexn characters, important concepts and ideas and like many Gainax titles, one can see that a LOT of research went into the design and background of the show.
Everytime I watch the show, I discover new things...
and if you happen to have the good fortune of being friends with someone who has devoted years of their life to studying the same things... well... it's an added bonus.
You'd be amazed at how many things in that show mean something...
It adds to the complexity of the show.
However, because of the hordes of idiots who also infest this board, I just don't like to talk about EVA on these forums.
Of course, I am always happy to discuss EVA with anyone who is interested in talking about it... and so you can always e-mail me at unclemilo@yahoo.com...
but I just am tired of trying to discuss it here...

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

Hell, I learned a lot about Evangelion just in the past two weeks--I hadn't seen more than the first 8 episodes until now, when I got the entire series on DVD.
The way the show ended (on TV) was enough to get me off my arse to research just what the hell happened in that show. I'm glad I did, because this is a deep program to examine.
And this is without having seen End of Evangelion (yet) to boot.

AKH257,
evangelion ran out of money and couldn't finish the series. They used rpevious scenes, and still pictures with voices and a lot of other horrible crap to make the last couple of episodes to finish up the series.
Death and rebirth are like episodes, they're what the creators would have liked the last two episodes to be like. So you could really just consider tem the actual last two episodes of the series.
The movie, like all other anime movies is based off the naime and best viewed after you've seen the whole thing. And since death and rebirth are like true episodes, it's best to watch the whole series, death and rebirth, then the movie. If you watch any diffrent, it just makes a confusing anime more confusing.
