The First Fullmetal Alchemist - it made me go, "Wow, this stuff is GOOD!"
The Slayers franchise - I've never laughed so much and had so much fun with a series.
RomeoXJuliet - It made me cry, can't get better than that when you're a person who doesn't cry over these kinds of things.
Trigun - It made me go "Oh wow. I love this stuff!"

Agree with most of the list, actually. Although when I was a kid I thought Gundam Seed was when the franchise started to get a little stupid. Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie is awesome, but I don't know if that movie deserves the title of "Best (Anime) Movie". Disagree with One Piece, although if I did watch it I might actually like it. The thing is, though, when I was younger and One Piece was on TV, it was notorious at my school for its poor 4kids dub, and so I've been pretty reluctant to watch it out of fear of being ridiculed by people who incorrectly assume I watch it dubbed.

Well Clannad is my #1 favourite.
My fave action would have to be To Aru Majutsu no Index
Fave Mecha is Gundam Seed
My fave comedy... that's a tough one. I'll have to go with Lucky Star.
And my fave Magical Girl anime is a tie between Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon.
