some animes are just pointless cause it sort of repeats its self. there are tho some that are good and original.

TL;DR
Entertainment in general (movies/tv/anime/music/theater) jumped the shark a long time ago.
Hollywood: Lowest Common Denominator Baysplosions
Music: Lowest Common Denominator "don't innovate because it won't go gold in 2 days" Top40 mush
TV: Lowest Common Denominator reality-trash
Anime: Lowest Common Denominator "OMGITSFROMJAPANSOITSAWESOME!!!!" pandering (*cough*bleach/naruto*cough*)
Theater: Lowest Common Denominator "lets sing about political issues so it sounds fresh and edgy" rehashing
Sure, there are examples to the contrary for each. But by and large, the entire entertainment industry is more concerned with pandering to mouth-breathing retards, suing teenagers and the elderly, and squeezing as much cash from everything as they can to bother coming up with anything original or worthwhile.

This discussion is a waste of time, there were WAY more mediocre shows from the 80's and 90's that never even got translated due to the difficulty. OFC it's gonna look like it's gotten progressively worse as there is much more (say 95% as opposed to 50% of all available series... with 20-30% of that being extremely difficult to get) available. my decission is simply just don't sweat it. There's more than enough out there to watch and still some I even missed! Viva le animation!

I think a few people here got the right idea. There newer you are to any form hobby/entertainment, the more you will enjoy it. You will discover "new", "creative", "original" ideas. However, the longer you indulge in any hobby/entertainment, the less infatuated you become with it. Eventually, you will reach the point where little about it is fun anymore because you have become so familiar in experiencing your entertainment that you know what to expect, it gets old, and you will come across things that will challenge/surprise/charm you less and less.
This holds true for TV, movies, music, anime, card/board games, sports, video games, jokes, racing, sex, reading, art, editing, programing, forums, making models, RC, shopping, crime, self mutilation, fashion, and even "thats what she said" (not jokin).
It is inevitable that it happens. It should be no surprise. It is much more that YOU are changing, not anime.

I love to wear absurd and totally impractical garments. What's more, I derive great pleasure from spending time with women for no apparent reason.
