Cartoon Network,... WTF!!! They cant do this!!

no don't worry about continuing it, we can continue talking about how america butchers anime, but i'm trying to drop the topic of me "getting" you. But no i haven't heard of that, i also don't think i get TechTV.

TechTV is a channel that basically focuses on technology. They have shows about computers, hackers, tech news, video games, etc. Now they have a block called "Anime unleashed" where they've been showing Silent Mobius, Lain. etc. I was just curious if they were censoring or editing it. I don't think they are.

well, what time are they showing anime? if it's relitivly early in the evening, then i would expect it to be severly edited to the point of butchering it. If your watching these shows at 10:30, 11:00 and later then i would assume that they are editing them a bit but hopefully not to the point of butchery. Most channels have a website for questions such as this. I would try to find the TechTv web site and ask them if the shows they are showing are heavily edited or not.

My guess is they're not doing editing since it's on around 10 or 11. Also, the *one* thing I did see was that scene in Lain where that guy shoots himself in the head. I'd imagine that would be edited like this if it were on CN:

-Guy pulls out walkie talking
-Points it at Lain
-Starts shaking
-Cut to the next scene outside the nightclub.

lol ... yea that sounds like cut and paste editing to me. but it looks like TechTV hasn't butchered any thing. Congradualtions, you found a good channel. Who's your cable provider? or do you have satalite? I wonder if i have TechTV...

I am with Time Warner Digital Cable. I've noticed that getting TechTV seems to be area-baed. I have friends up north who don't have it (shrug).

in that case i problaby don't have it, i have rogers cable, i doubt that we have that channel, we'd have to order it, and other then the space, teletoon, speed and home&garden channel i don't think we have any thing special on our cable. Oh well too bad, my loss, guess i'll just have to stick to my computer and HMV for anime ...
