The first EVER anime that i saw and got me into it was some AMAZING anime i saw on TV years ago. I can't remember the name of it but it wsa really good... it reminds me of Zone of the Enders... Maybe it WAS ZOE... hmm... i will never know. The first anime that i saw and can remember is probably Akira, you dont see much of Akira in that do you? the first anime i will buy is this weekend! im not sure what i will get, maybe eva or Vampire hunter D Bloodlust (my friend has LOTS of animes and he has the first one) ... any opinions on what i should get?

Wait, does it have to be first bought? Can I count Fan subs
I bought the Gundam wing tapes (Well, the first 6 and the movie) when I was desprately looking for more of this "Anime" stuff. That was a good year and a half before I bought my first DVD.
The first DVD I bought was Animematrix. It was the first DVD I bought period. I had been downloading anime for a long time before it came out. But Matrix fire was burning inside, so I went out and bought it the day it arrived.
After that I bougth Initial D (vol 1)
Then Castle of cagliostro
Cowboy Bebop the movie
