Still believe the Gundam to be superior.
Wonder how things would have turned out of the zeon had gundanium instead of the gundams, and they were just called something else. That would be a trip. They would still win I’m sure, but it wouldn’t be the massive slaughter like the series are now. Be more of a survival story than the all out war they portray.

Then again I wouldn’t have that massive poster of wing with a crushed zaku under his feet. That would be utter travesty. Its cool factor is incalculable.

It's called Gundanium after it's redesignation. It's originaly called Luna Titanium.

And what poster?! I want that! (Got a picture?)

No pic, its imported and I cant seem to find it in all the sites I know. I bumped into it (literally) at a con. Its got Japanese all over it and its pretty nice. Sorry I have no idea how you could get one.

That’s right, forgot about that. Something about how it can only be made in space because their cant be gravity or something like that. Know the specifics???

Thrawnma of the Gundam Boards at GameFAQs.com wrote:Its used in reactors. Made from materials on the moon. Incredibly tough and resilient. Is later refined by Axis into a substance called "Gundarium" which has varying grades denoted by codes (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, etc). The name Gundarium was chosen because of a psychological aspect. Alpha is pretty much plain Luna Titanium. Beta is slightly better. Gamma is lighter and stronger. And there are some fanmade ones that are incredibly strong, like Gundarium Epsilon which is known to easily shrug off beam weaponry.
Axis is the Zeon asteroid that bolted at the end of the one year war.

Gee Duke, don't kill the thread yet.
I've already requested that his/her post be moved or something...

Knew the Gundanium part :D but not of the Luna Titanium. :?
This begs the questions:
Are there other materials used in the Gundam making process?
And what about the Zeon forces?
I do wonder about that...

Couple of things I errored up. It's Gundarium, not Gundanium.

Other materials? Depends. I'd say silicon and plastic are important.

Zeon makes theirs of regular Titainium and Beta Gundarium.

Say, does anyone want to share their mech ideas? I'd like to see what you guys can come up with.

I'd like to see one with a couple of energy blades on the arms, kinda like a Protoss warrior has, for any of you who've played Starcraft before. I'd be interesting to see something like that duel against a conventional beam sabre.

I’ve always had a thing about small lightweight mechs. If I had access to the scientists and materials of the gundam universe I would make one no bigger than 5 to 8 meters, more of a powered suit than a mech. it would be faster and harder to hit than those massive gundams. More for sneak attacks and counter ops than real warfare.

There would be power issues but since in anime anything is possible, I’m sure I could make up a battery or power unit of some sort.

Then again I wouldn’t be able to blow up colonies with one shot.... thus I am torn.....

Sounds like an Elemental, from Mechwarrior 2. My brother and I used to play with them in multi-player. There was no way you could bring down a full mech with one, but there was no way the mech could accurately target something that small and fast. It's a shame they took them out of Mechs 3 - 4, I'm not sure about the Xbox games.

if i had the money nd the things i would go for a close combat onli mech, since beam sabers are gettin a bit boring, it will hav a cloakin system (like Blitz's mirage coloroid in SEED) so it can sneak up to dudes nd slash dem to pieces. a sword capable of switchin between a rifle nd a sword (like Temjin in Virtual on), double sided beam saber (Freedom nd Justice from SEED), beam bending shield to prevent long range stuff from hittin it (Forbidden from SEED again), and some massive boosters/wings on it's back so it can fly like...some fast thing :D
