The plane is referred to in the film as a Savoia S.21. Now there really was a plane w/ that designation, but, IIRC, Porco's seaplane does not resemble the actual Savoia S.21, but another Italian-designed aircraft (can't recall the name off-hand, and I don't want to look it up).got2maskit wrote:Another Question (last still apply)
What model is Porco Rosso's plane, and what is his real name?
HELP!! I'm being held prisoner by CLAMP fans!! We Demand -- er, They Demand -- uh, OH, FORGET IT!! It's Fun Here!!

Noticed the name change . . . And I DIDN'T notice what you meant about the second half of the question -- I thought you were talking about the real identity of the plane, not the pilot. My bad . . .
This is a general anime question (the answer is the name of the anime(s)).
At one point in time, director Tomomi Mochizuki (or Tomomichi Mochizuki -- I've seen the name both ways, but it is the same person) was working on one anime project, when another studio called, asking him to take the reins of another anime project. Rather than refuse or even postpone either (he was really REALLY interested in both), Mochizuki worked as director on the two projects simultaneously:
A six-episode OVA series (which has been released in the US; even got a DVD release not too long ago),
AND
A made-for television motion picture (1st for this particular studio; BTW, this movie has NOT been released in the US yet).
Actually, it might be better to say he overworked; during the making of both projects, Mochizuki had to be hospitalized for stress. Nevertheless, both projects were completed, and are both well regarded.
THE QUESTION: What are the names for both this particular OVA series AND TV movie?

Alright, It worked out anyway, but for further reference, the plane (inanimate object) would be it's name, while the pilot (person with an identifiable gender, (genderless= their)) would be hisCliffD wrote:Noticed the name change . . .
