^Wow.
Five minute quality.
If it does become a Trilogy, it would be the first Gundam one.
Right?

Gundam isn't one series, it's just the name of verious shows that all happen to have big mechas called Gundams in them. Each show is pretty much it's own thing. Some of the shows are grouped together, which I'm sure has been mentioned in previous posts in this thread....

To clarify: There is no such thing as a Gundam series having multiple seasons...each Gundam series is just that, they are their own series
There are sequel series, yes (especially in the Universal Century timeline) but they aren't seasons, they are entirely new series
The reason Heero isn't around any more is because the After Colony timeline has already played out...it got a series and an OVA/movie (which, to be fair, is more than most AUs get...up until Turn A Gundam came out, Wing was the only AU to actually get more than just one series...and even then, all Turn A got was two compilation movies)
Endless Waltz prettymuch nullified any chance of there being any more story to Wing when they said MS were never seen again.
and that, my good sirs, is why there's no more sign of Heero Yuy
In short:
There's no more Heero because there's no continuation of the After Colony timeline
and once again, to clear it up, they aren't seasons, each is a complete series

You do know that most series within the Gundam Universe are stand alone?reservoireddog wrote:What the hell happened to Heero Yui? The only season I liked was Wing and endless wattz. He was my only favorite character. Its the only anime that I know of the consistenly changes cast in every season.
Think of it like the Final Fantasy games, they all share similar variables but are their own game.
Same with any Gundam Series, except for movies and OVAs related to a series.
Also there's an Alternate Universe.

Ah, Heero you beat me to the punch...

yea I know but I think its dumb that they just can't have one main character to follow. Its like if they did a squel to Cowboy Bebop and there show had nothing to do with any of the original cast except the ship. WTF? who would care about that these new people? You become so attached to the main character you want to see more. I guess thats why I don't like any of the Star Trek series besides the one with Perfessor X.lol

Well to be fair, they have brought back several characters in cases on other occasions (Amuro Rey, Char Aznable, and Bright Noah were all recurring characters for a few of the Universal Century titles.)
But as to why they don't just focus on one...well, the obvious answer is that it would constrict their story options quite a bit. Gundam has always, first and foremost, been a war story, and, as such, the stories then tend to focus on wars throughout that particular universes history. In that light, it would seem kind of odd to follow on one character all the way through (again, this would be especially awkward in the UC case since it's current reach goes from 0079-0153 (something like that) so finding one character they could focus on for ALL of that stretch of time is awkward.)
Besides, I actually find it's a nice touch for them to offer different casts of characters. Not only does it provide variety, it helps give the story a wider scale in the full scheme.
(...bear in mind I write this at 4:45 AM EST, so I apologize if some of this seems incoherent, but that's about my thoughts on the issue.)

^Indeed.
It's like I said about the Final Fantasy series.
The worst thing a product (in this case the anime) can get is stale.
Staleness leads to crappy offerings.

That's all opinion, really (...I dunno, personally I didn't see a whole lot done with SEED that earlier series hadn't already done...Coordinators actually wound up feeling more like Fukuda's attempt to get around the comment he made about wanting to make a series where you didn't have to be a Newtype to make a difference in the war.)
