This is from on OVA from the 90s that was released by ADV here in the states. It centers around some 'artificial' characters.
This is a 2 episode OVA that currently doesn't have a state side DVD release. (the VHS UPC code has actually been re-assigned to Fishugi Yugi if I remember right)
One of the main characters shares their name with the name of the show.
Hand Maid May and Key: The Metal Idol are not the right robot.
