Well... Suffice it to say, that unless God himself decided to direct this... "thing" (what else can you call it... you can't put NGE into a movie), there's no way on this planet or in our lifetimes that it could ever be done properly. And I don't think that God would really take part in that, seeing as how NGE was anit-God.

My biggest question other than them butchering the Metaphysical aspects of the series is how the hell do they expect to do the whole "gigantic fighting entity" thing without using C.G. "a.k.a. making it look very fake" or the ever popular Japanese technique of putting a guy in a rubber suit " a.k.a. making it look even worse, and too much like Godzilla".
This just cant work "GOOD  ".

CG doesn't always look fake. It depends on how much care and time is put into it. I find that some of the time, like Dragonheart and The Mummy, it looks damn real. It's just that your brain knows it can't be real, and that it is in fact CGI.

Now, Blue Submarine 6 and the Power Ranger's Movie... that was some fake looking CGI right there.

I never thought that NGE was anti-God at all. I found that there were
great spiritual themes involved, especially in EoE that were really
non-denominational, although the majority of the religious references
were from christian theology. I'm just curious as to how you came to
that opinion?

Yeah, I too don't see how Eva was Anti-God. Certainly religion had a large place in the thematics of Eva, but at its core Eva had far more to do with humanity than God.

lol. you people had 5 messages about a small scimantic issue by me calling them robots. Now I remeber why I stopped coming to this thread. LOL but it was ammusing none the less.

in addition the eva's will has extremely little to do with its actions. It is being controlled and is electricly operated so I say its more of a robot than anything else. Look at battle angel alita, nothing says robots cant be living. **SPOILER** The tiphereans dont even have a brain are they robots or humans? the whole question doesnt really matter anyway.

since im not coming back you people argue amongst your selves on this for the next 2 weeks without me.

Yeah, I have another friend that saw Evangelion as being religious, but the problem you have with Evangelion, is that Evangelion is 'Art' in its purest form. And as art, much is left to interpretation by the viewer. I've always beleived in the freedom of belief. Please, do not let what I'm about to say affect your view and your belief of Evangelion.

***Spoilers***

NGE was an issue involving self and your placement in life, at least in the end... So I won't address that, but rather EOE. Yes, Evangelion was full of religious references. But the recurring issue I received from Gendo Ikari is that he believed mankind to be created by God incomplete, full of holes and emptiness. He blamed God for their suffering, and thus became a man against God. "God's in His Heaven, All's right with the World" Meaning, God's where he belongs... we're fine by ourselves. From this belief, Gendo strove for Instrumentality, the melting of all human minds and souls into one collective body, the filling of one another's holes and gaps. But something happened during the initiation of Instrumentality that Gendo did not expect. Rei was only half of Lillith, and Lillith was key to instrumentality, as she would fulfill the deepest desire of one individual, Gendo kept the other half separate from her so he could do as he pleased until he so deemed the necessary moment. When that time came, he began instrumentality to fulfill his desire. Gendo wanted to control the fate of man, merge and be reunited with the soul of his wife, trapped inside Unit-01. Lillith, however, felt it best to aid the suffering soul of Shinji Ikari, thus the fate of the world lay in the hands of Shinji. When he decided everyone should die... They did, and hence all of mankind entered into a state similar to that we see in EOE. Where our thoughts and memories intermingle in a mass of mental energy. But he decided he didn't want this to be the fate of the world, he didn't like it. So he wished to be sent back... From here the last 2 or 3 minutes get real... (my head hurts again, sorry)... I'm not sure what happens after that, but I read a fanfic that seems to make good sense.... oh well... In the end... I guess it was kinda... God/anti-God... in the fact that we strove to correct something God did wrong, but in the end, God's intention was the only right way to exist... Does that make ANY sense?

Man... Sorry about that little sermon. Those are just my views on the subject... Like I said, to each his own, but... I'm gonna go lie down now... My head hurts.
