I hate to spoil your fun here, but most anime is terrible.
Good points!

I actually am thankful you mentioned this. Most people don't realize that most anime in Japan is crap. Like you said, they only send us what does well in Japan (although there is some crap in there too). I hate to say it, but also die-hard Otakus can't even comprehend the fact that anime can be crap. I mean we are already part of geeky sub-culture so some people feel obligated (or really believe) all anime is good. I mean I bet there are Star Trek fans that think every episode is good (they forget "Encounter at Farpoint").

In any case, I guess I'm just regurgitating your thread, but :thumbs up:

DBZ saving grace? If you say so, i found the Z saga rather....drawn out. The original Dragon ball will always be my fav because it had humor {Slapstick mind you, but still funny ^_~}, a bit more of a plot, and didn't run on as long as the Z saga. ~Sounding like Uncle from Jc's adventures~ ONE MORE THING!!!! >__<

The only reason i liked the garlic Jr. saga was because it gave krillin a beautiful highlight on why they actualy keep him in the series. *Pokes Ogre in the nose with my finger* Shaolin finger jab! XD

1) Perfect Blue {I couldn't stand it becuase the first time i saw it, it made me question the very reality i live in! Till this day i still think i'm a plate of Sashimi dreaming that i'm a man. @_@}

3)Suikoden: Demon Century {The only reason i hate it is becuase they only made ONE moive out of it when there was room for more. The bastards! Dangling a carrot like that in front of me. -_-}
Whew on #1, I was about to start a rebuttal :).

As for #3, I want to see this since I absolutely love Genso Suikoden II (second best RPG EVAR). Does this story have anything to do with Joey and the main character in II? It's good to see another Suikoden fan.

Not really, the anime version of suikoden seems to have little to do with the actualgame itself. While there are refrences to the ledgend of the 108 stars of destiny, i didn't see anything truly connected to the game outside of a few refrences. But since you've played the second game, check out the anime anyway and maybe you could tell me if it has anything to do with the second game. ^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^

Meh. I enjoyed dragon ball when I saw it cause I was still new... but all threaa shows are bad. Dragon Ball was allright, but it was horribly censored (No "she's got no penis" jokes, and 70% of what Roshi said was changed). Dragon Ball Z was horribly drawn out. GT just plain sucked, no matter how you look at it.
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

You people are all on crack.

Or maybe just lucky.

To have actually SEEN any of Megazone 23 and not recognize if for the worst piece of pointless, drawn-out, slapped-together, lobotomized skullfucking ever animated, now that would be an argument for "on crack".

Yeah. Probably just lucky.

Some people say there's a case to be made for Goldfish Warning, or Wedding Peach, but I haven't seen either of those, and it'd be damn hard for them to be worse than Megazone 23.

This thread has been done before, and in that thread I voted for I'll Make A Habit Of It (Chou Kusei ni Narisou). This show still sucks, but Megazone 23 sucks more and harder.

Honorable mentions: Sword For Truth, which would have been cool if it had a sequel instead of its current ending, The Ultimate Teacher, which is so stupidly bizarre it's good, and Gatekeepers, which is good campy eye-candy, but sucks big turd-covered rocks if you want anything approaching plot or realism.

I can see that. I imagine it works similarly the other way around as well. America exports a lot of movies, but do they export the ones that don't do well locally? I highly doubt it, m'self.

Well, lets face it... Next Gen (And Only Next Gen) episodes that are pure crap are few and far between. But... anyway, back on topic.

Prince Of Tennis. This is the dumbest sports anime I've ever seen, and if you actually play tennis, it makes it even worse. Don't get me started.

Although we did export Titanic and I think that's a piece of crap (ducks). Then again along the argument it did do well here, so I guess it sort of supports the argument...I just wanted to say that I hated it :-P

I guess I'll go off-topic again, but I wouldn't say few and far between. Don't get me wrong I love Next Gen, but Season 1, 2 and 7...not exactly the best of sci-fi. I mean Beverly Crusher in love with an Alien ghost thing that seduced her grandmother? Come on!
