Adult Swim Trigun Reactions

When Frank Marlin is thrown out of the bar at the beginning of the episode on of the gunman put the barrel of his gun between Frank's head and said something. What they showed was frank hitting the ground, the gunman raising his gun and then they used a still frame of frank as the gunman said his line. Although this edit is small and un-important, it means that future gun to heads will be cut.

That means that this will be cut:

1. When Kite has the gun in his mouth.
2. More than likely the Legato scene when he is shot will be cut
3. When Cain T. Longshot commits suicide.
4. Not a head shot but when Sanzi (or what ever his name is ) is shot due to the fact he is a kid and is killed. Cartoon Network has always been against violence against children and woman ie slaps and hits to head.

There are quite a few more scenes to list but I dont want to go too in depth.

Then how to you explain last night then? I thought that maybe they wouldn't care about it but it seems that they cant get completely by the censors. Besides there was alot of stuff cut out of cowboy bebop.

yep .. i agree .. but on the other half, im glad the fols at cn are at least TRYING to air some new blood, and they must have done some homework, because it just wasnt a new Hamtoro series .. they managed to wrangle up (or try ) to get well praised series' such as Trigun and R.Kenshin.

HeThor, the gunplay in CB didnt involve, execution style killing, or scenes that promote suicide.... a big no no from the censors P.O.V.

but i think due to it being aired so late at night, they shouldve at least left that scene in...

I surely hope they do not edit most of these. Number 2 on down is all essential to the story. I guess I shouldnt be at all surprised though since Rurouni Kenshin has been edited to the point that it is unrecognizable. However, I thought this being on Adult Swim would help. "Adult Swim?" More like...pre pubescent teen swim .

I think that even though it says adult swim and even though they have the warnings they are afraid that 12 years olds are staying up and watching them, which they are. I have a 11 year old cousin who said that he stayed up an extra 3 hours to watch adult swim. The network fears the loss of sponsors due to some kind of controversy caused by somthing they show ie suicides.

Well they did basically edit out Jinnei killing himself on Kenshin, so it is entirely possible. If they leave it in I will be suprised. This is how I see them cutting it: (spoilers ahead) Vash realizes to shoot Legato and cries then we will hear gun shot. Later we will see legato on the ground, they will prebably edit out the blood behind his head so that it doesn't look like a head shot.

Yup that's what I think they'll do. It's Adult Swim so he can AT LEAST die.

As for Kenshin, I heard from others who hadn't seen the show, that it's not even clear that Jinei is dead the way they cut it. I find that scene VERY important to the show since Jinei says some pertinent lines (that are used later too) to Kenshin. I think this added more depth to him AND Kenshin. (sigh) More 'tards out there will not think they know a show better than us .
