I knew he had TB, but i thought his coughing was due to the blow he recieved...or at least it seemed like a hit, and he didn't cough b4 or during the fight..oh welldwchang wrote: Yeah I knew they were all based on real folk which makes the show even better and yeah I also read Okita (who is the character-model for "Soujirou" in the TV series) was debateably the strongest...
As for your question, I don't know...I think they were fairly even and then Okita started coughing since he has TB. If that's what you meant about being able to defeat him...I don't think that has anything to do with his swordsmanship. He exchanged quite a few blows with Kenshin and parried a great many of them too...I'd say that's fairly even if you ask me.
i love rurouni kenshin!

No, it's his TB that causes him to cough up blood. He didn't get hit at all...if he got hit, he'd be dead. Remember Kenshin isn't using a reverse blade, one hit from that would kill, especially in the hands of Kenshin.In4ser wrote: I knew he had TB, but i thought his coughing was due to the blow he recieved...or at least it seemed like a hit, and he didn't cough b4 or during the fight..oh well
I believe they also showed him coughing in the TV series flashback.
I am 100% sure it was TB. Okita is definitely as good as Kenshin during the Bakumatsu.

Okita Soshi was one of the last 'true' samurai peeps around in Japan, and was generally recognised as a bit of a prodigy. Tuberculosis claimed his life in his mid to late twenties, IIRC.
Oh, and the UK *does* have CN, but it's not the same as your version. We get a lot less stuff than you do, and practically no anime. Their spinoff AS-wannabe CNX does show Cowboy Bebop (until very recently), Dragonball Z and occasionally Tenchi, but that's it. The Sci-Fi channel showed Evangelion once, at a graveyard early morning slot. That's most of it.

Yeah, your cartoon network has some freaky ass shows. It's like a network dedicated to Grim & Evil and Scooby Doo-type shows... It's like, not even entertainment.

Off topic, but Scooby Doo certainly proved that a cartoon can be top-notch as a live action film, right up there with Dudley Do-RightSQ wrote:Yeah, your cartoon network has some freaky ass shows. Yeah, the live-action was pretty good, but I never liked the tv show. It was too predictable.Dr. Strangelove wrote:Off topic, but Scooby Doo certainly proved that a cartoon can be top-notch as a live action film, right up there with Dudley Do-RightSQ wrote:Yeah, your cartoon network has some freaky ass shows. It was like "Ohmigosh, what will we ever do now?"
"Well, we just go find the guy who dresses up s this ghost!"
"Yes, but, half of the people on this show underestimate us because we're teenagers!"
"It doesn't matter, the criminals always leave tons of convient clues, and we have a non-exsistant college education on crimology and crime analyasis that enables us to figure them out!"
"Scooby dooby doo!"
"I'm scared, Scooby."
