I've been to great conventions before, but never cosplayed. Next convention I'm considering doing something extremely simple but just doing it to enter the contest and not win. Either A) cutting the 7 eyed mask out of some peice of cardboard, taping it to my face, and maybe nailing myself to a cross. or B) Dyeing my hair black and say that I'm trying to be Shinji.
Look at all my trials and tribulations
Sinking in a gentle pool of wine.
Don't disturb me now, I can see the answers
'Till this evening is this morning, life is fine.

My still incomplete Girls summer uniform set for Tachibana High School. Obviously, the blouse needs the brunt of the work, the entire sailor colar needs to be added on, plus patches sewn on. And I need to make a 'Hitler Youth' style black arm sash for special designation. The girls gym uniform is pretty much complete, but since the design only really called for a T-shirt and shorts, it was just a matter of getting the T-shirt printed.

Hey, I'm not a gun nut. I don't even own one, and I'd never fire one even on a range. I think they're usefull tools for media, the most efficent way we've created to destroy each other while keeping the task personal.

I hate a lot of guns. Maybe simply for what they represent. For instance, the IMI 'My penis is so small, I need this gun to compensate' Desert Eagle.
Okay, the moderators are probably going to delete this, but I don't give a damn!

Let me guess, you're a native Canadian, and a woman, right? Guns aren't about making up for penis size. Guns are about taking the responsibility of defending one's freedom by oneself, rather than relying on an inefficient political system to arrive late, and just scrape your body off the sidewalk.

Assault rifles, submachine guns, and other destructive devices have as much place in the role of home defense as handguns, shotguns, and if need be, hunting rifles. If you run into a nutjob like the guys involved in the North Hollywood Shootout armed with AK-47's, you're going to need something a little bigger and more powerful than a .380 ACP to take them out.

The Desert Eagle is big and powerful because it was designed as a hunting pistol, for use on big game (deer, elk, and possibly brown bear). The .357 Magnum is the maximum required amount of firepower to drop a human (with 95% probability of one-shot-stop, using Remington 125 grain semi-jacketted hollow point rounds, with 583 foot-pounds of muzzle energy-from http://www.chuckhawks.com).

But for something bigger, there's nothing like hunting a dangerous predator at 80 yards, with a weapon normally designed to put a 6" bullet grouping in a target at 50 yards. Every inch makes the difference between dropping a grizzly with a .454 Casull, or getting an insurance-paid helicopter ride and month's bed rest, with or without all four limbs. Why do it? The same reason people still hunt with rifles, or the more-challenging longbow and crossbow: to know we can still provide for our families without having to rely on an entire commercial system to do all the work for us.

As for the invention of firearms, it was a major step in giving equality to all socio-economic classes of Western Europe. Before the firearm, the fear of death from the noblemen trained and equipped for combat kept the lower classes in-line. However, firearms can be weilded by young, old, rich, or poor, with just as much accuracy. It's like comparing a guy training himself in years of martial arts against a guy who can teach himself enough Krav Maga in two weeks, and putting them against the same armed assailant.

This equality is what America is all about. It's taking the responsibility for one's own actions, in exchange for the opportunity to make something out of yourself. What's really entertaining, is the fact Alexis de Tocqueville is the only Frenchman who has ever grasped this concept.

So what was it exactly that you had against guns?

Actually, I only have things agianst specfic weapons, one being the IMI Desert Eagle. To begin the corrections, the 'Deagle' isn't for big game hunting, it's military. IMI: Isreali Military Industries. Second, a refer to the deagle as a hand held penis because of it's .50AE load. (.44 and .357 variants, yes, I know). It was designed to defeat armor, not water buffalo. So, in Charlies Angels II, The Matrix, countless other movies, and for John Smith; who wanted a gun for 'self-defence' it's just a steel cock. A Glock 17 or Beretta 92 would serve just as well, have less recoil, and hold more ammunition. So you 'God Bless America' speel is a little premature.
