ppl cry to much about dbz because it's so long and popular, if people really wanted to, they could find good themes in the show and enjoy the fight scenes that don't leave you saying 'that was it?...' sure it's long, i know it's far from a perfect series, but it's a great FIGHTER anime, if ur looking for a psychological trip, look elsewhere, if u want high-speed car racing, look elsewhere, everything has it's own group of followers, if u don't like db/z/gt, don't follow

the reason why I liked DBZ was

1) it was something totally new to me since it was the first anime I've ever seen.

2) Even though the fight scenes did seem quite long and drawn out, they were drawn very good and very smooth. Though, I think making little energy blasts go around the screen seemed to much like a waste of time.

3) Liked the characters even though they were a bit to sterotypical run in the mill anime characters. Goku = the hero, Trunks = pretty boy, Vageta = the bad to the bone guy, Piccolo = the teacher, Gohan = the innocent yet powerful kid, Freeza = the fruit, Cell - the indestructable bad guy. Though I do like Master Roshis sterotypical character = the perv and drunk master

those are my 3 only reasons why I liked DBZ when I did.

Ive seen the entire series first in japanese(without subtitles)then in english serveral times.
