I thought it was pretty good--at least, the voice acting was tolerable, which is always what I watch out for in Adult Swim (sorry to all rabid Inu fangirls, but the dubs are horrid in that show). And--not that I could tell or anything--but I think the only thing they cut was the opening song (surprise surprise).

I thought the dubs were pretty good from what I heard. Maybe due somewhat to two of my favorite Esca VAs being in it.Trident wrote:sorry to all rabid Inu fangirls, but the dubs are horrid in that show.

Sorry, but what you see is what you get. For the next 14 eps. it's a "witch hunt of the week" until the second half of the series (and the real story) kicks in.LoST RaiNDRoP wrote:*after watching WHR* ....well? what do you guys think about that?... i just think they should make it more scary and add more suspence.. i even brought myself a blanket to hide when it gets scary.. but.. lol.. never happened.. the episodes will get better... cant wait to watch the next episode!
Suspense, a little bit, well sort of, well not really.
Scary, not here - try Devil Lady instead.

Hitomi and Vahn? (Sango and Miroku)J-0080 wrote:I thought the dubs were pretty good from what I heard. Maybe due somewhat to two of my favorite Esca VAs being in it.Trident wrote:sorry to all rabid Inu fangirls, but the dubs are horrid in that show.
oh yeah and x2.
Lets be honest though, the Inu dub does blow pretty hard early on (was this Kagome's voice actress' first acting gig?) I got used to its cheesier voices for the most part and bad voice actors (like kagome) eventually settled down and did a good job I thought.
Ranma 1/2, IY and Esca were all done by the ocean group, so theres a lot of shared voice actors if you listen for them. Its fun because sometimes a familiar voice will pop in just for one episode, like Allen Schezars voice for Kageromaru (Naraku's 3rd and ill fated incarnation), or Koga of IY doing the voice of an evil gymnastics martial artist in Ranma 1/2. A couple voice actors have done all 3, well at least 2 that I've noticed so far: Ukyo/Hitomi/Sango and Kasumi/Hitomi's friend (Hikari?)/Kikyo. I love how vahn/miroku (Kirby Morrow) hates Folken/Naraku (Paul Dobson) and is romantically interested in Hitomi/Sango (Kelly Sherridan). Not only are some of these voice actors maintaining their roles in IY, but they have similar relationships to when they were in escaflowne.
Well say what you will about IY, but as a huge fan of both Ranma 1/2 and Escaflowne, I'm tickled that the ocean group is doing IY, and I think for the most part they are doing an excellent job so far, by dub standards at least.
